2021 Lincoln Continental Review – Design, Engine, Release date and Price
The famous luxury sedan is probably the brand’s most famous painting, so it’s not surprising that you got a special treat from the company’s engineers. According to the latest reports, we are about to see some developments next year. The company appears to be preparing a facelift for the 2021 Lincoln Continental.
While we’re still awaiting official confirmation, this seems very likely, especially when we consider that the current generation has been around since 2016.. At the moment, we are sure to design, but there may also be changes in other aspects.
2021 Lincoln Continental Exterior
This is expected to be a typical plastic surgery process, so most of the changes will affect the exterior design. The current model is running on the expanded version of the well-known CD4 platform and we do not expect any major mechanical changes for this update. On the other hand, we can see a lot of visual updates. Of course, most of them will come in advance. We rely on all of these adjustments that are typical for mid-cycle innovations. So expect a new grille, headlights, bumpers, and more, despite the current status that roughly follows the brand’s latest design language. Changes to other parts of the car are also expected.
Some of them will go back, but the rumors of the new doors seem definitely more interesting. According to them, the new 2021 Lincoln Continental will come with rear hinged doors known as suicide doors. However, we are still awaiting official confirmation. Finally, rely on other typical updates, such as new color options, wheels, etc.
2021 Lincoln Continental interior
This is a luxury sedan, so we usually expect a very luxurious interior. But in current models, things are not going well. The materials may be nice, but the finishing touch is not enough at all. Simply put, the Continental car does not approach its competitors in this regard and do not forget that this part includes some amazing vehicles, such as Mercedes CLS, BMW 6 Series, Audi Q7 and others. Therefore, we hope that Lincoln pays more attention to this aspect.
On the other hand, this sedan really shines when it comes to foot space and overall interior space. This refers in particular to the rear seats, which are among the most comfortable in the class. Luggage space is pretty average for a class, as you can count on approximately 16 cubic feet behind the back seat.
2021 Lincoln Continental Engines
The current model has two V6 engines on display, and we do not expect changes in the 2021 Lincoln Continental. The base models continue with a 2.7-liter unit, which represents about 325 HP. High upholstery will be available with a newer 3.0-liter twin turbo unit, providing around 400 hp. Either way, the performance is very good.
You can expect a fairly solid acceleration, although the six-speed automatic gearbox can be more accurate. This is why we can also see updates here. However, this is not the weakest point because the mpg ratings are very low for the category. You can count on only 17 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway and these numbers are definitely far below the average for the season.
2021 Lincoln Continental release date and price
When we consider that the 22021 Lincoln Continental will have a fair number of upcoming changes, we may see them sooner than you would normally expect next year. This will most likely happen sometime in the third quarter of next year. When it comes to price, we don’t expect bigger changes compared to the current model, which starts around $ 46,000.
