BMW has officially confirmed its plans to release a station wagon version of the upcoming sixth generation M3. When it finally arrives on the UK market, it will be the first official M-Performance version of the 3 Series Touring, and in direct competition with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Estate and the Audi RS 4 Avant.
The car was officially pictured in a teaser in the shadows and now in a short video that the manufacturer posted on Instagram showing a prototype covered during testing. The photo confirms that the car’s design will follow the new 2022 BWM M3 sedan, which was also spied on during testing, as evidenced by our exclusive designs.
It has also been confirmed that the new BMW M3 Touring will be equipped with a six-cylinder petrol engine with a twin-turbocharger. It’s the same 3.0-liter powertrain found in the X3 M and X4 M SUVs, which means the hot M3 station wagon should have 503 hp and 600 Nm of torque.
The new 2022 BWM M3 Touring will have the same all-wheel drive system as the 2022 BWM M3 sedan, allowing the driver to deliver 100 percent of the engine’s power to the rear wheels.
