Cadillac recently joined some major SUV segments, but the brand has made great strides in recent years. The Cadillac XT5 competes with the brand in the fast-selling mid-range as an alternative to models such as the Jaguar F-Pace, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q5 and Lexus RX. The model debuted for 2017 and received a mid-cycle update for the 2020 season. The 2021 version added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2022 Cadillac XT5 should come with minimal changes and improvements, while the all-new version is expected for 2023.
The 2022 Cadillac XT5 model will make some changes in equipment availability and add several new options. The trim range should remain the same, but new package options should appear. The model will also continue to rely on the same powertrain options. Each version will be well equipped, including a set of active safety systems.

The next generation version should be available before 2023. The redesigned XT5 gets the all-electric version. The model should take some styling cues from the Cadillac EV concept. It will switch to the new platform while maintaining similar dimensions. There could also be a plug-in hybrid version.
2022 Cadillac XT5 Design
After the last mid-cycle update for 2020, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 should return without any significant design update. The 2022 model should be the final version of the first generation XT5. The next generation model is the transition from the current C1XX platform to the new VSS architecture. The redesigned XT5 should also feature a more elegant exterior design inspired by the Cadillac EV concept.
The mid-size Cadillac XT5 has a practical look. The front fascia attracts attention with the shield-shaped grille flanked by modern headlights with distinctive lighting elements. The side profile features a traditional design as well as the back.

The model will go on sale with 18-inch alloy wheels in the base version, while the higher grades and available packages will offer larger 20-inch units. The new model year brings a new wheel and new color options.
2022 Cadillac XT5 Interior and equipment:
The cabin of the upcoming 2022 Cadillac XT5 won’t get a major upgrade. The model should also return with the same range of equipment, but new package options and more standard equipment should be available.
The 2022 Cadillac XT5 has a well-built cabin and uses the highest quality materials. The controls are clear, easy to use and recognizable. The model offers rich semi-chic leather mixed with open-pore wood. Black and chrome accents are also available. The model offers up to 63 cubic feet for loading.
On the trim level, the Basic Edition will include features such as simulated leather upholstery, two-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, heated front seats, etc. Standard tech features include an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple Car Play and Android auto, eight speakers, a Wi-Fi hotspot and security systems like lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, parking sensors, etc.
Mid-range versions switch to leather upholstery and also add automatic windshield wipers, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, etc. Available package options provide additional technical features and convenience.
The Sport version will also feature cabin design and specific improvements, including a sports suspension with adaptive dampers, 20-inch wheels, etc.
2022 Cadillac XT5 Performance
There should be no surprises regarding powertrain options in the upcoming 2022 Cadillac XT5. The model should offer the all-electric version and eventually the plug-in hybrid lineup with a second-generation version.
The 2022 model will continue to use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The alternative is a 3.6-liter V-6 that can produce 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while buyers can choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

On the efficiency level, buyers get about 28 mpg or 24 when paired with the front-wheel drive, which is a four-cylinder version. The same configuration with the V-6 under the hood should deliver 26 mpg on the highway and 21 combined.
2022 Cadillac XT5 Release Date and Price
Without any significant upgrade, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 should be available again with a starting price of around $43,995, and the model will go on sale in late 2021.
