2022 GMC Acadia Full Review
Although its older brother is brand new, the 2022 GMC Acadia is not bringing any major updates. The nfuext redesign is scheduled for 2023 and GM will stick to that plan. The focus, for now, is on electricity, with many electric cars on the way. You may have heard of the return of the electric Hummer pickup and you will be wearing a GMC badge. This means that SUVs from the same company could also have EV versions for the foreseeable future.
The 2022 GMC Acadia is a midsize crossover. Some say it is a twin Chevy Traverse. Well, there are two models that share structure and transmissions. A four-cylinder unit won’t excite you unless it is fitted with a turbocharged A V6 that is the Acadia’s top choice. A seven-seater SUV with the option to cut a spot by installing captain’s chairs in the middle row. This is the standard design for the highest-performing Denali segment. It makes the Acadia a luxury model.

2022 GMC Acadia Options and trim levels
There are five packages available to start building the 2022 GMC Acadia; the basic version comes as SL and offers a manual tailgate. Inside the cabin, an 8-inch screen is the centerpiece of the infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, of course, along with a total of five USB ports. The SLE is a six-seater, with the captain’s cubes in the middle row. Additionally, this package upgrades the power tailgate liftgate. There are also more safety and entertainment options available.
The 2022 GMC Acadia SLT is the best buy. You will get a great set of accessories and the price will still be reasonable. For example, there are heated front seats, navigation, and Bose’s premium sound. Larger wheels are also included, while the main gear is under the hood, with the 2.0 turbo replacing the 2.5 millimeter.
2022 GMC Acadia Denali and AT4
The two best models are Denali and AT4. Depending on the needs, you can choose either luxury or off-road upgrades. The 2022 GMC Acadia uses the best features the company has to offer. You won’t be able to find some elsewhere in the lineup. Only other GMC Denali models will use the front screen and ventilated front seats. A tilt and telescopic steering wheel is also present. The special 20-inch wheels and exterior paint will ensure spectators never miss the Denali.

On the other hand, if you are adventurous, the 2022 GMC Acadia AT4 will be the most interesting version of the SUV. This package is sometimes underrated by the experts, but it can rival the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner TRD. 17-inch wheels and off-road tires have been added. The car will deploy a mixture of V6 power and all-wheel drive. Roof rails are standard, while drivers can get help with hill control. The AT4 SUV is also flying thanks to the unique suspension, which will add more space under the vehicle.
2022 GMC Acadia Specifications
The 2022 GMC Acadia will certainly be equipped with three engines. The entry level option for SL and SLE is the 2.5L four-bowl grinder. That’s the poor performance of a mid-size SUV, but there are satisfied buyers with 195 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. The towing capacity is only 1,000 pounds and this configuration makes no difference to the fuel economy sector. Other versions can return the same 27 mpg highway. However, the 2.5-liter unit is best for city travel thanks to its 21 mpg rating.
A four-turbo engine will raise the beam to 230 hp. Plus, the 2.0-liter displacement generates 260 pounds of torque, providing better traction. All-wheel drive is optional and the engine is standard on the SLT. Engineers are pairing it with a nine-speed gearbox.
The V6 is a reliable 3.6-liter engine that produces 310 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. It also pulls more, but not more than 4,000 lbs. The 2022 GMC Acadia will need to keep up with the competition in this segment, as most mid-size SUVs can gain 5,000 pounds and the best models reach 6 kilos. However, the 3.6-liter mill features an Active Fuel Management system that improves fuel economy. With the V6 engine, the 2022 GMC Acadia will return 23 mpg combined, or 21 mpg if you opt for all-wheel drive.
2022 GMC Acadia release date and prices
Without major changes, the 2022 GMC Acadia will be available in early 2021. However, in 2022, we expect more news about the redesign and potential engine upgrades. In addition to the EV, we also got to the Acadia hybrid. Also, there will be more updates to the style. Therefore, we recommend that you wait for the updated SUV. The only reason to buy the 2022 Acadia is because of the price it might drop a bit compared to the current level. When the all-new SUV arrives, the MSR project will rise.
