The first photo of the 2022 GMC Terrain was leaked online a few days ago. Numerous blog reports indicate that the new model wears the popular Denali tubes. In case you didn’t know, this design is the pinnacle of GMC‘s offerings, with plenty of work tools available. The presented image allows us to get a literary peek at the upcoming premium compact crossover before its planned debut.
GM planned to introduce the new GMC Terrain in March, but the Covid-19 pandemic has forced many carmakers, including Cadillac, to delay the arrival of the updated model until 2022.
2022 GMC Terrain Redesign
The leaked image of the new 2022 GMC Terrain gives us a good idea of the stylistic changes made to the new SUV. First of all, the upcoming model looks much bolder than its predecessor, with a modified front end. As we can see, the front comes with a revised larger grille, and new C-shaped headlights with different LED lighting signatures we saw last time.
GMC has also applied a new metallic wheel design, resulting in an even sportier look. The car in the leaked image is most likely a Terrain Denali, as it has a unique chrome grille and additional chrome accents.

2022 GMC Terrain Cabin
The 2022 GMC Terrain is a two-row SUV with effective soundproofing and well-cushioned seats that make the interior a pleasant environment. Rear cargo space is decent, at 29.6 cubic feet. However, it can be increased by folding down, which creates 63.3 cubic feet of luggage space. Interestingly, the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 beat the Terrains by a few cubic feet.
As part of the standard equipment, the new Terrain features an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth technology, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto smartphone integration, four USB ports, and a GMC Pro Safety Package with driver assistance systems. Only embroidered headrests and a stitched dashboard are available, so you can opt for Denali upholstery. Additionally, Denali offers Bose audio, driver-side memory settings, navigation, a 360-degree camera system and wireless charging.

2022 GMC Terrain Powertrain
The latest 2022 GMC Terrain is the SUV that will be available with two petrol engines. The base kit will consist of a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. According to GMC, this engine is available with a six-speed automatic transmission.
However, for customers who want more power, GMC also offers an optional 2.0-liter turbo engine. Thanks to this engine, Terrains can generate 252 horsepower and 260 pounds of torque. This engine comes with a GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Both models use front-wheel drive, while the upper trim strips are available four-wheel drive.
2022 GMC Terrain Price
In the crowded SUV segment there are a large number of highly rated models. The new 2022 GMC Terrain is one such vehicle, and it boasts an impressive design and many premium interior elements. The GMC Terrain will go into production later this year at GM’s San Luis Potosi plant.
However, the price is not officially available yet, but it looks like it will be higher than the current $ 25k model. The Denali is the most expensive and should start around $ 40,000 before options.
