2022 Honda Civic, Sedan, Tipe R Review New
The latest reports indicate that the new 2022 Honda Civic will make its debut next spring and will carry a new design language. The upcoming model will offer several improvements, according to the manufacturer.
As before, the Civic will be available as a sedan and hatchback. From what we’ve heard, the Japanese automaker is cutting its compact and semi-compact offerings for 2021. The reason is simple: Honda Civic hatchback and HR-V are slashing sales.
2022 Honda Civic exterior design
The highly anticipated 2022 Honda Civic will undergo several cosmetic changes that will make it appear more aggressive. The manufacturer did an excellent job up front with LED headlights and an attractive grille, which gave this model an even more premium look. And the C-shaped taillights design is very unique and looks great even at night. As we said, this model is available in sedans and hatchbacks.
The hatchback pays tribute to the sedan model with a convex rear end, raised spoiler and oversized fake air vents on the rear bumper. However, the Sport and Sport Touring hatchback adds dual exhaust vents. The Type R is also attached and gets a sporty styling, including a hood trowel, three exhaust pipes and a massive rear spoiler.

2022 Honda Civic Powertrain options
The latest 2022 Honda Civic will likely maintain the entire engine range as before. When that happens, the base model uses a 2.0-liter inboard engine that delivers 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. The following options can be found between models as the LX hatchback, EX, EX-L and Touring sedan. This engine consists of a 1.5-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.
The SI variant will also use the same 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4 engine, but it will deliver 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the Type R could use a 2.0-liter turbocharged inboard engine capable of delivering 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is available as standard at the lower edges and is replaced by a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) at the top. As you likely know, the absolute strongest part of the Civic is the front. This model is equipped with stylish headlights that continue in the grille, which makes this car very unique.
As before, the fog lights are located on the lower grille and create a bit of a mustache effect. Additionally, the same design is found in the Insight model. However, the Civic Sedan appears to have a cleaner, simpler design that reminds us of foresight. At the rear, there are new LED taillights that look and feel different from before. The taillights look thinner and are reminiscent of the Kia Stinger style.

However, some of the updated parts are clearly visible and this model looks more aggressive than the normal parts. Obviously, at first glance, the 2022 Honda Civic Type R has a similar design to the current generation. Although we can see some changes that grab our attention as the wedge-like shape is loosened in some way.
The rear spoiler also appears smaller, giving it a sophisticated look. All lamps are new and use advanced LED technology. We can also see a kind of opening in the middle of the stern which would probably be convenient for fitting the exhaust tips. The single exhaust pipe shown on this camouflaged model is clearly only a temporary unit.
2022 Honda Civic Type R Interior
Like the exterior, the cabin of the 2022 Honda Civic Type R is also hidden. Moreover, we only have one image that indicates what’s going on inside. Firstly, both the steering wheel and dashboard are new and the designers have opted for a standalone screen mounted at the top of the center console.
The infotainment unit appears to be around 25 cm in size and is definitely a better solution than an integrated unit like the current generation. According to much gossip, the new model can also use a new digital dashboard, similar to the Audi Q8 RS. Regardless, buyers can expect exceptional comfort and technology that is much better than the previous generation.
