2022 Land Rover Defender 130 Full Review
Land Rover is not satisfied with itself after the opening of the new Defender. The Model 130 eight-seat variant will join the 90th three-door and five-door variant 110 in the coming years.
First reported by its sister publication Autocar UK earlier this year after the leaked brand’s presentation, No.130 is due to be unveiled in the second half of next year, before its launch in 2022.
Aside from the model’s logo, it shares a length of its wheelbase – more than 3 meters – by 110, which means an expensive platform doesn’t need to be extended.
Instead, Land Rover is set to increase the vehicle’s rear overhang so that it can accommodate up to eight seats. It is around 5.1 meters long, which makes it 342 mm longer than the 110 version, but about 50 mm shorter than the BMW X7.
The 2022 Land Rover Defender 130 has not yet officially confirmed the existence of 130 vehicles, but is billed internally as an elusive “explorer” and is aimed at large, active families who enjoy traveling.
The price of the 2022 Land Rover Defender 130 will increase, according to Land Rover’s desire to build a 4 × 4 in the high-end off-road segment with high margins, along with models such as the Mercedes-Benz G-class. It could also contribute to the automobile’s increasing popularity in China and the United States, where large SUVs are more popular in Europe.
Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division is working on models with very high specification, and may be inspired by a line of advanced Range Rover R series products.
This will allow Land Rover to benefit from the global popularity of high-power, high-priced SUVs, backed by the latest Mercedes-AMG G63.
While other Defender variants will appear, it is now clear that the pickup model has been said to have been removed from the product package.
It is estimated that heads of companies cannot make retrieval development costs possible, and assume that the upcoming 110 and 130 standards will provide sufficient freight space flexibility without having to remove the roof and open bays to the elements.
Land Rover produced a small model throughout the lifetime of the ancient Defender, all the way to the original Series 1.
Land Rover has confirmed that Defenders will go on sale in India at the end of 2020. While the automaker has not finalized the version or price for India, we hope the 2022 Land Rover Defender 130 will be brought to India in the form of 110 five-door, with a choice of petrol and diesel engines.
2022 Land Rover Defender 130 engine
Aimed at “young and wealthy people looking for fun”, there will be a three-door multi-purpose vehicle that seats five or six people. Defender 110 seats up to seven, but Land Rover doesn’t stop here.
The 2022 Land Rover Defender 130 is listed on the Disco 4 forum and can accommodate up to eight passengers.
Engine options? The D200, D240 and D300 operate as entry-level manufacturers, all of them diesel powered. This is followed by the P300 four-cylinder engine and the inline six-cylinder P400, followed by the P400e with a plug-in hybrid.
The economy powertrain, also referred to as the P400e in the case of the Range Rover Sport, combines a 2.0-liter Ingenium Turbo engine with an electric motor and a 13.1 kWh battery pack.
Trim level five options, Standard, S, SE, HSE and X-Dynamic. Standard equipment includes LED headlights with daytime running lights, rear fog lights, power side mirrors, a 10-inch touch screen, a 7-inch center TFT screen for instrument panels and seat upholstery fabric.
As the spectrum increases, the 2022 Land Rover Defender 130 handles Matrix headlights, automatic high beam assist, memory functions for the mirrors and seats and a 740-watt surround sound system. In terms of dimensions, the three body styles range in length from 4,323mm to 5,100mm.
The Defender 110 will be presented for the first time in October 2019, followed by the Defender 90 in March 2020 and the Defender 130 in August 2020. Interestingly, the Defender 130 has the same wheelbase (3022 mm) as the Defender 110.
Are you waiting with these details for a new Defender that is not yet fully human or wants something more serious off-road condition? Unlimited Jeep Wrangler comes to mind, the chassis on the frame, especially with a Rubicon flavor.
2022 Land Rover Defender 130 price and release date
Price-wise, the Defender 90 is priced at £ 40,290, with the larger variant 110 at over £ 45,240. Despite the two-door design, 90 people can accommodate six.
Commercial derivatives will be added to the range later this year at a price of around £ 35,000 plus VAT. Then it will be a hybrid model, the price of which has not yet been detailed.
Land Rover claims 1.21 million people have built Defenders on branded sites, with more than half choosing one of four accessory packages: Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban.
