This time Mazda is building its truck on the D-Max. So far, we don’t know many details about the main features of the new model.
Some reports indicate that the new 2022 Mazda BT-50 will be practically a renamed version of the popular truck. We will not only see the same mechanics, but also the same design and interior. The new model is based on the same new D-Max line.
On the other hand, many hope that Mazda will also apply its beautiful design language to this truck. The company is currently working on updating the existing lineup. Many new models are coming and they will all be taking the brand’s latest design language, featuring a cute slim shape and full of round lines. The new design language is based on modern vision and Kai concepts and represents a further development of the popular KODO design philosophy. In this case, the new 2022 Mazda BT-50 looks more attractive and accessible from Isuzu‘s conservative approach. Of course we will also see Mazda‘s new interior, which could provide a lot of new technical functions in the field of safety and driver assistance systems.

2022 Mazda BT-50 engines
When it comes to engines, we expect the new 2022 Mazda BT-50 to use the same units as the D-Max. Most likely, this means that there are two diesel units on offer. One of them can be 2.5 liters, which produces about 160 hp and provides excellent efficiency and fuel economy. Another option is the slightly larger 3.0-liter engine, which also has slightly more power. It produces about 175 horsepower. These two units from Isuzu we can also see something from Mazda‘s lineup.
