A Wait Thats 2020 Nissan Altima is a stylish mid-size sedan that delivers the comfort, features the family wants, and exclusive content they can’t get anywhere else.

Combined with a spacious cab and state of the art technology, the Altima is the only sedan in its class to feature an optional all-wheel drive system. Nissan also offers an advanced engine called VC-Turbo that aims to increase fuel efficiency and performance.

Aside from the options that changed this game, Altima faced fierce competition from many prestigious competitors.

While the Honda and Mazda variants look better and ride better, the Altima still delivers amazing sporting performance, along with Nissan‘s loyal followers.

After being completely redesigned for the 2019 model year, the Altima has received some minor updates for 2020.

Nissan now offers more driver assistance systems in the entry-level S and SR models, which previously had collision warnings and automatic alerts for emergency braking only.

The 2020 version can be equipped with blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning and high beam assist.

Other enhancements include the memory function for the side mirror on the upper model Platinum and interior accents in Gloss Black on the SV models and above.

2022 Nissan Altima redesign

As for the renewal, if the speculation can be trusted, nothing will change for the 2022 Nissan Altima. Being a daily mid-size sedan, the Altima’s cabin has been carefully designed. It is very simple and neatly arranged.

Yes, there’s a lot of plastic around it, but it feels to the touch and nothing feels cheap even on the S Model.

Then there’s the standard Zero Gravity seat, designed to give you the utmost comfort on all your travels. This seat provides the kind of support that will keep you feeling fresh after your flight.

The only downside to this sedan is the narrow second row of seats. While there is still plenty of room for people of all shapes and sizes to sit comfortably, taller people will have trouble traveling longer than usual.

All 2022 Nissan Altima benefits and features are likely to be transferred to 2021.

2022 Nissan Altima Interior

Inside the cabin, the 2022 Nissan Altima cab provides a straightforward instrument cluster with an easy-to-use keyset. The interior materials vary between trim levels, but all are major improvements over the previous generation Altima.

Our mid-range SV Concept features interesting trim and hard plastic that doesn’t attract much attention.

Desirable options include cool interior lighting, memory driver seat settings, heated front seats and a powerful sliding roof.

There are quite a few regular steering wheel and fake carbon fiber, especially since there are no shift paddles or drive modes to choose from on the SV.

However, the soft armrests make roaming and sitting in traffic more likely. The front seat is suitable for different body types, but we find the lower back support very aggressive.

Every 2022 Nissan Altima has a standard 8.0 inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The infotainment interface has a main menu that can be customized, but it has many customization options.

While the audio system contains useful buttons for volume and adjustment, the touchscreen we tested responds slowly to input.

In addition to the optional integrated navigation system, the Ultima infotainment system can be upgraded with a dealer-installed 4G LTE mobile hotspot.

We put six carry-on bags in our Altima luggage and a total of 17 bags with the rear seats folded down. These numbers match those on the Toyota Camry we tested, but not the 19 Honda Accord bags.

Unfortunately, the Nissan rear seats were not fully folded and had to be removed with a lever on the trunk, which was painful.

Altima features stylish front-seat storage, with deep narrow door pockets and a handy tray at the front of the center console.

2022 Nissan Altima Exterior

The exterior of the 2022 Nissan Altima is currently part of the sixth generation that will be offered as part of the 2019 model year.

This is only when it gets rejuvenated. It is therefore unlikely that the manufacturer will redesign.

The mixed variant, if any, may have a doctrine of its own badges, but don’t expect anything new.

Although, things have improved for this midsize car after its restyling.

Lower and wider, it shows how this sedan went. At the front is the V-Motion featured with chrome accents.

Only, unlike Maxima, this V goes deeper. That’s why these two sedans now look even more impressive.

Then there’s an active dimmer shutter flanked by sharp LED lights. They highlight various character lines that run along the side of this vehicle.

18-inch aluminum wheels fitted with gloves like this sedan. The rear is tastefully styled with a charcoal diffuser in the rear, chrome exhaust and LED Boomerang taillights.

Camry is the strongest of its competitors. Altima and Camry are equally compatible in exterior dimensions.

They both have the same wheelbase and the same length. On the other hand, Honda Accord is the lightest of the others, but on the contrary, it is wider and larger than the other two midsize cars.

2022 Nissan Altima engine

You know before you go 2022 Nissan Altima has a standard 188-liter four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine mated to a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT). The optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 248 hp and also uses a CVT transmission.

While Nissan praised the innovative variable compression technology, only 2.5-liter engines can be obtained with all-wheel drive. We drove both versions and we can confirm that Nissan has not abandoned the sedan.

The standard four-cylinder and all-wheel-drive engine has predictable but unusual acceleration. The engine was noisier the more throttle we depressed, but the four-cylinder Camry we tested was very loud at times.

The VC-Turbo engine makes the Altima much faster. It moves from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds and runs from 50 to 120 km / h (to simulate a highway crossing) in 4.1 seconds. Last time it was faster than Honda Accord and more powerful Toyota Camry.

While Nissan‘s turbocharged engine is unconventional and four-wheel drive uncommon, it’s not at all as fun to drive as a Mazda 6 or nearly as much as an Accord.

The Altima SR got a revised sports suspension and 19-inch wheels, which made it even more fun in the curved section. However, this increase also reduces the ride quality of the usual Altima models.

Surprisingly, the Platinum model we drive has a sharper grip than the new BMW 330i xDrive 2019 we tested. Nissan also has a comfortable ride that avoids vibrations on rough sidewalks.

The steering system perfectly matches the family sedan’s standard and doesn’t add to the effort to mimic the steering wheel’s taste. The Altima brake pedal features linear feedback and rapid response to our inputs.

We recorded an emergency braking distance (70 mph to zero) of 170 feet, competing with the equipped Accord and Camry.

2022 Nissan Altima MPG

At MPG, the Altima doesn’t offer a plug-in hybrid that is as fuel-efficient or environmentally friendly as many of its competitors, but the two petrol engines have a high EPA rating for fuel economy and better real-world results.

The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is estimated to be up to 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway.

However, the more expensive models are rated at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the four-wheel drive model can produce up to 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The VC turbo is rated at 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

On the thrifty 200-mile highway, the Altima all-wheel drive engine achieves 41 mpg, while the VC-Turbo version achieves 37 mpg. The Accord and Camry are the most fuel efficient, producing 38 mpg high and 45 mpg each.

2022 Nissan Altima price and release date

The price and release schedule are absolutely essential to know that Nissan is very selective about the launch of the Altima sedan. For 2019 and 2020 models, this mid-size sedan will be available in June and July.

So the same can be expected also for the 2021 model year. However, there is no official launch date for this sedan. The official price is not yet known.

Perhaps in the fall of 2021, when Nissan decided to announce to the public the official price and launch date of the 2022 Nissan Altima

One of the main reasons why Altima is so popular is its smart price. For the 2020 model year, the base Nissan Altima S is priced at the suggested retail price of $ 24,100.

The more loaded Platinum and Platinum VC Turbo variants cost $ 32,180 and $ 35,180, respectively. Among these, the first model has an all-wheel drive option that costs $ 33,530.

Compared to the 2019 model, this year’s price is only $ 100 higher for the base variant. So it’s safe to assume that 2022 Nissan Altima will show a slight price increase as well.

The real catch this time might be the resurgence of the Altima Hybrid. Of course, it is not possible to know the cost of owning a 2021 Nissan Altima Hybrid yet.

However, considering how the Camry Hybrid and Accord Hybrid are rated, Nissan should be quoting no more than $ 36,500, excluding destination costs.
