2022 Range Rover Sport Full Review

The latest news indicates that the manufacturer will introduce the next generation of the popular SUV sometime in 2022, and it will be the 2022 Range Rover Sport. It will be supported by a new platform that will reduce its weight significantly. The exterior is also refreshed as the cabin gets a new touchscreen display with the latest infotainment system.

2022 Range Rover Sport Performance engine

The upcoming 2022 Range Rover Sport is hitting the road with a variety of engines that also power the current model. All engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive as standard. So the base is an inline 4-liter 2.0-liter turbo engine that’s capable of delivering 296 horsepower and 296 pound-feet of torque. This engine will also use an 85 kWh electric motor capable of producing 114 hp. Thus, the total horsepower of this engine would be 398 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque.

Next up is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine capable of developing 254 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque in the SE and HSE models. This unit is rated 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. The manufacturer will also supply a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. It is rated at 17 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

The 2022 Range Rover Sport will also have a 5.0-liter V8 Supercharged engine. That would make 518 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. In terms of fuel economy, you get 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. That same unit would be capable of making the 575 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque the SVR model. It is rated 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

2022 Range Rover Sport exterior
