2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Engine

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla is slated to use a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, unlike the Valkyrie’s V12, but the flagship sports car will share the KERS system. The combined power of these two machines is about 1,000 hp (735 kW, 986 hp). The engine was designed and developed by the company to take advantage of Castrol’s 90-second Nexcel oil change system, previously only used on the Volcano track. The exhaust system, like the Porsche 918 Spyder, uses two exhaust manifolds at the top of the car. However, in July 2021, Valhalla underwent a major overhaul, which included replacing the engines from the V6 inboard engine to the Mercedes-AMG M178 LS2 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with two electric motors and many other changes. The new propulsion system will have 950 hp (699 kW, 937 hp).

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Safety

Aston Marton is also confirming the use of the Valhalla electric power steering and will receive a suite of active safety systems, including flexible cruise control, automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring.

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Release Date

The expected launch date of the Aston Martin Valhalla in Europe is October 2022, while the expected global price is $1,260,000.

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid

Aston Martin has taken another step into the future with the unveiling of its production-ready mid-engine Valhalla.

Powered by a plug-in hybrid V8, the Valhalla is Aston Martin‘s first mid-engine supercar – or at least it will be when it launches worldwide in 2023.

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid engine

Power comes from a flat-cranked 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine of 550 kW, mated to electric motors on both axles, contributing to the mix an additional 150 kW.

The combined peak power is 700 kW, and the maximum torque is 1000 Nm, transmitted to the road via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission without a rear gear. Instead, electric motors provide reverse driving. Although the gasoline engine is connected only to the rear wheels, the car can operate as a pure front driver in pure electric mode, or as a pure rear driver with electric and petrol power in tandem.

The 100 km/h sprint takes 2.5 seconds and you are driving around 350 km/h. The range of pure electricity is 15 km. Despite all the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid kits and a lithium-ion battery, Aston Martin aims for a dry weight of 1,550 kg. The car also wants to complete the 6:30 am lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

This would make Valhalla about 14 seconds faster around Green Hell than the current record holder, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS from Manthey Racing.

2023 Valhalla Hybrid Exterior

Below, the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid is built around a carbon streamer and has a push-arm front suspension based on Aston Martin‘s connection to Formula 1. It’s designed to move weight inward and reduce unsprung mass.

At the rear there is a multi-link suspension, with variable speed multi-speed springs and adaptive coil-over dampers. The ride can be lowered to create more downforce in track mode, and there’s also a lift to the front axle to slip over tough speed bumps.

Valhalla rides on 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels wrapped in Michelin rubber, and rear carbon-ceramic brakes. The brakes are wired, and the steering is electrically assisted. Eagle-eyed readers will note that this doesn’t look like the DB9 or DB11 for that matter. Although 2023 Valhalla Hybrid does not have the same classical lineage, it is devilishly intelligent.

The car generates 600 kg of downforce at 240 km / h thanks to the aerodynamics you can see in the photos, and an intricate network of venturi tunnels under the body. Hinged forward doors are designed to impress when you stop. They have cutouts in the ceiling to make it easier for tall drivers behind the wheel, too.

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid interior

2023 Aston Martin Valhalla Hybrid interior photos haven’t been shared, but Aston Martin promises a cabin that borrows the best of the Valkyrie’s race-inspired cockpit, while also providing more comfort in the long run. Aston Martin promises a low, high-pedal seating position that makes Sebastian Vettel or Lance Stroll feel right at home.

A new infotainment system will take center stage in the center of the dashboard, and both the pedals and steering wheel will be modified to help drivers feel at home. Matrix LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, independent emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and a reversing camera are all standard.
