The 2023 BMW X2 crossover comes without changes. The compact SUV is a competitor to the Audi Q5, Range Rover Evoque, Volvo XC40 or Lexus UX. Two versions of the car are available, the 28i and the M35i. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is an option. A 2.0L I-4 engine is standard on all trims.
The X2 will look and drive as we expect from BMW. However, the attractive design benefits from aerodynamics and practicality. Surprisingly, Android Auto was not available, but the 2023 BMW X2 was able to implement this service. There are no major drawbacks but the main drawback is the price. Well, not many buyers are willing to pay $37,000 for a small crossover. This is the initial suggested retail price for the X2.
On the other hand, high-end models are equipped with some cutting-edge technologies. Well, the M35i is one step ahead of the competition, especially with the 300 horsepower and Harman Kardon sound.
Specs
Under the hood of a small car is not a small engine. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower thanks to the turbo system. We see the same configuration available for the larger X3. The 2023 BMW X2 also produces 258 lb-ft of torque. sDrive28i uses dual drive. Don’t worry, xDrive is also available. Gas mileage is 27 mpg combined, which isn’t a bad output considering the power. On the other hand, it’s not great for a compact crossover.
The 2023 BMW X2 M35i comes standard with the xDrive four-wheel drive. Same motive power under the hood. But in this case, the 2.0-liter engine produces 300 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Of course, the best performance is guaranteed, as is the price that exceeds all expectations of a car in this class. Premium gas makes everything work better. The eight-speed automatic transmission is the power steering for both configurations.
In Europe, the X2 is still available with oil burners. There is no doubt that the crossover will receive an electric unit in the near future.

2023 BMW X2 exterior and interior
The list of equipment available for the 2023 BMW X2 is quite long. Even the basic version is heavily loaded. Well, the price is not high without one or several reasons. First of all, the 2.0-liter turbo is the most expensive part. However, the little crossover rides on a set of 18-inch wheels. An electric tailgate is also standard. The Comfort Package is optional for the BMW X2 sDrive28i and xDrive28i 2023. It adds power folding mirrors with self-dimming panoramic sunroof, lumbar support and a pressure switch. You can also add the M Sport X package to make the crossover even sportier. The look has been upgraded with larger wheels, custom trim, sport suspension (optional), a retuned transmission and a sport steering wheel.
2023 BMW X2 M35i
If you choose the M35i version, all the features we mentioned are included, except for the panoramic roof, which is optional here. However, the M Performance badge is the better spec sheet. The engine produces 300 horsepower and the company is adding rear wings for a better aerodynamic look and more power. The brakes are stronger, and the limited slip differential improves traction and balance.
This is the only optional Premium package, with heated front seats and steering wheel, HUD, larger screen and mood lighting. Of course, buyers can also choose a feature to add to one of the existing configurations. The 2023 BMW X2 M35i offers adaptive cruise control with speed adjustment and distance maintenance, adaptive tippers and automatic parking.
2023 BMW X2 price and release date
Only minor changes will not affect the price of the cross. The release date is set for the last quarter of 2022. After that we will receive confirmation. The sDrive28i should start at less than $37,000 and buyers will need to add $2,000 to the xDrive AWD. The Comfort package costs $2,250 and the Premium package costs $3,650. The 2023 BMW X2 M35i offers both, a power boost, all for $10,000 over the base price.

2023 BMW X2 GoldPlay Edition
The biggest change to the 2023 BMW X2 GoldPlay Edition package. The company offers a unique array of design details with plenty of gold accents, both inside and out. The rest of the lineup has remained the same, in the United States and around the world. The compact crossover is ideal for city cruises. There are similar cars with better gasoline mileage, but the overall performance will be on the BMW X2 side.
Under the hood of the American version is a 2.0-liter engine as a base option. It is also available with 300 horsepower. In Europe, diesel engines and plug-in hybrid systems are part of the group. The entry level package is the sDrive28i. You can upgrade it with AWD, while the popular xDrive is standard on the M35i version.
Despite being smaller than its siblings, the X2 is everything you’d expect from a BMW. It runs well, looks aggressive, and the top-of-the-line version comes with a great spec sheet. On the other hand, the price is a bit high for a small SUV, starting at $38,000. In addition, Android Auto is not part of the infotainment system. We commend the design, but the practicality must be better.
2023 BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay
The new package attracts a lot of attention. GoldPlay combines details and interesting elements to make the mini crossover even more powerful than the standard edition. For the US market, the 2023 BMW X2 GoldPlay Edition is available as an upgrade to the xDrive28i model, while the M Edition does not offer the new package. There are plenty of gold accents around the body to offer the GoldPlay Edition to buyers. They will also have a selection of new paint jobs. These are the colors for the new model: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Storm Bay and Skyscraper Grey, while San Remo Green is exclusive to this model. However, the main addition is the Galvanic Gold graphics on the side skirts and wheels. In Europe, golden details also surround the grille.

As we’re used to with the compact little crossover, it comes with two packages. The sDrive28i is the base version and the most notable is a 2.0-liter engine with 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. Big Brother X3 uses the same configuration. The manufacturer recommends using premium gas for best performance. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. xDrive AWD is optional on the 28i. There is also an automatic on / off system, but you can turn it off.
The BMW X2 M35i 2023 is a sophisticated version at a price that exceeds the expectations of a compact crossover. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. But the M version produces 300 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Fuel consumption does not suffer much. The M delivers 23/30 mpg, while the 28i does 24/31 mpg with xDrive turned on.

Favorite Features and Accessories
The list of standard options for the BMW X2 2023 has become very long. Here are some equipment. For example, motorists love the parking sensors on both ends. The only unknown detail about the upcoming car is the price of the 2023 BMW X2 GoldPlay Edition. Without major changes, the rest of the group should come up with the same signs. That means a base sDrive28i will be available for $38,000, and all-wheel drive will cost $2,000 more. Without upgrades, the M35i stays under $50,000, but not too far. The M Sport X package costs $4,500, the comfort is available for $2,300, and the difference from the premium package will set you back another $1,300.
