2023 Citroen C1 is the city car sold by Citroën. The Citroën C1 is a nice and fun city car, but some alternatives look bigger and better quality. The 2023 Citroën C1 has many styles and is comfortable to drive, and the Citroën C1 has lost out to more practical city car competitors, with the front bumper, headlights and taillights and a slightly different Toyota Aygo.
The Citroën C1 was produced in 2005 along with the city car Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo. It was the result of a joint venture between Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) with cars produced in the Czech Republic. The TPCA joint venture has announced that it will stop production of the Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108 in 2021, while Toyota Aygo will continue into its third generation. Production ceased in January 2022 after nearly 1.2 million vehicles were produced.
2023 Citroen C1 Interior
Inside, the interior of the 2023 Citroen C1 is very nice, the center console and dashboard are covered in scratched hard plastic that is not pleasant to the touch. On the other hand, below the surface and in its detail, the C1 looks very solid. This important feature is reserved for the Feel version of the ladder in the next stage. The rear seat can be adjusted using an easy-to-use wheel instead of the regular hard-to-grip handle, and the seat supports your sides and lowers your back well.

The infotainment screen is crisp and clear, but on the Airscape, when the roof is down, sunlight makes it impossible to read. This is not a problem for the hard-surfaced C1. The entry-level Touch may not have an infotainment system, but at least it has a 2-speaker MP3 stereo and a USB connection. Except for entry-level touch technology, all models are equipped with a 7-inch touch screen designed to display the screen of Android smartphones.
The problem, while promising, is that the technology does not appear to be fully developed yet. The control interface is not smooth and can be a bit disappointing for those who are used to the smooth interfaces on tablets and consoles. The MirrorLink function is also not compatible with all smartphones. The Flair and Feel models are also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2023 Citroen C1 Engine
2023 Citroen C1 is limited to the updated version of the old 1.0-liter VTi Trio, which has 71 hp. The 1.0-liter car is unproductive at road speeds and is generally slow. At idle, the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine hits loudly, but it quickly replaces once you hit the road. The numbers are staggering, with the 1.0-liter model running 0-102mph in 14.0 seconds. Maximum noise is reached at 4800 rpm, so for any success you need to run the engine aggressively and use a five-speed manual transmission. Once started, acceleration will not be instantaneous, so it will take some time to pick up speed on the highway. Even in the city, you have to maintain a high rotational speed to get away from traffic lights and intersections quickly. Simply put, it’s not quite as bold as the Kia Picanto 1.25 or the VW Up 1.0 TSI 90, which is a good choice if you’re out of town regularly.

2023 Citroen C1 Safety
The 2023 Citroen C1 passed the Euro NCAP crash test and received four out of five stars. This leaves competitors like VW Up behind, along with the Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 108. Since then, however, Euro NCAP has introduced more stringent testing standards. The Citroën has six airbags, top launch control, tire pressure monitoring and electronic stability control as standard, and every C1 has Isofix child seat mounting points. More advanced technology, such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), is only available as part of the optional Active City Brake system. All Citroën C1s have a remote central locking, steering column lock and immobilizer. However, the study by security company Thatcham scored poorly for its shatter resistance and gave it two out of five stars. The 2023 Citroen C1’s resistance to being chased by a burglar in 2023 earned it four stars.
