It is said that the 2023 Honda Clarity update is scheduled for next year. In April, Honda unveiled its global electrification plan for battery electric and fuel cell electric vehicles. Honda has actually validated the 2023 design and we can expect it to have a more attractive design than it has in the past. The new 2023 Clarity will be available with a plug-in hybrid system or a fuel cell version.

2023 Honda Clarity Engine Specifications

We think the all-new Toyota Mirai, which is in the same class, looks slimmer. Unlike in the past, the Clarity design incorporates a series of sharp creases and rounded edges. Overall, integrated rear wheel rims and plenty of black plastic make the Clarity stand out from the crowd.

Most of the styling cues we’ve seen on other Honda models, but the handling used on the Clarity makes it even more distinct. The front looks familiar, enhanced by elongated LED headlights and massive arm-shaped daytime running lights. The Honda Clarity still uses the same tilted rear window, giving the look of a sedan hatchback.

2023 Honda Clarity cabin upgrades

Whichever model you choose, PHEV or fuel cell, they both have the same spacious interior. As mentioned, the 2023 Honda Clarity is a mid-size sedan with a five-passenger cabin and excellent head and legroom front and rear. The interior is modern and we love the elegant wood, soft leather seats and faux suede on the console.

With the release of the current generation, Honda replaced the stock shift lever with a row of buttons, which is much better service. The manufacturer has obviously saved some space in the center console, and it looks great too. Cargo space in the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid is approximately 15.5 cubic feet, while the fuel cell tank reduces trunk space to just 11.8 cubic feet.

Release date

We can expect to launch the new 2023 Clarity sometime next year with many improvements inside and out. The current plug-in hybrid has a manufacturer recommended retail price of $34,995, and we can expect the new to be in the exact same range.

However, the Touring variant starts at $37,595, while the Clarity Fuel Cell is around $59,485. In a price comparison, the Clarity Design PHEV is more than $6000 more than the Toyota Prius Prime and Hyundai Ioniq. However, Toyota has reduced the Mirai by about $10,000.

2023 Honda Clarity Hybrid

The upgraded 2023 Honda Clarity has already been officially verified, and looks set to debut next year. As before, this form is presented in two forms. It comes as a hydrogen fuel cell or hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The fuel cell model is only available in California because it is the only state that provides the infrastructure for hydrogen.

The Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is powered by a petrol engine and exceptional battery pack. Plug-in Hybrid Specs

The 2023 Honda Clarity design is readily available in two variants. It comes powered by a Plug-In Hybrid or fuel cell system. The PHEV model is offered with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft. The device is connected to a hybrid electric motor system, and uses a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery. Fully charged, this mode should provide approximately 47 electric miles of range only.

The upcoming 2023 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid will look categorically more attractive compared to the previous design. For 2023, as far as we know, the manufacturer will make its front end more attractive, and should add thinner headlights with all-new graphics.

Most design cues are practical, and manufacturing will improve aerodynamics. The familiar Honda styling still exists with the same massive boom-style DRLs. However, at the back, the Clarity looks more like a hatchback than a sedan because it features a small boot lid. In general, the design of this design has remained minimal in the Accord model.

Interior equipment and safety

Inside, the new 2023 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid should not be completely different from its predecessor. The cabin is modern and spacious as well. As before, this sedan offers enough space to easily seat five passengers. The base model consists of dual-zone automatic environmental control, keyless entry with push-button start, an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-speaker audio system.

It also features Honda‘s standard sensor that packs collision mitigation brakes, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. Moving on to the Touring model, you’ll get some other additional features like power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery and navigation.

Release date and price

The launch of the upcoming 2023 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid will more than likely take place next year. This sedan is far from its competition thanks to its unique design and plenty of basic hardware. It also offers much more versatility than its class competitors.

Toyota Mirai is its main competitor like the new Prius Prime and Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. As before, we expect the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid model to start at $36,000 before the alternatives.
