2023 Kia Forte, GT Turbo Full Review New
Kia’s compact sedan gets a new look at life – and perhaps a new name to match. The Korean market K3 has been revealed with an updated style inside and out, and according to the US version, which is currently called the Forte, it will take its global name just like its older brother when it was renamed from Optima to K5. Kia registered a trademark for the K3 name in the United States; A Kia spokesperson told C/D that the company does not comment on future products.
The redesigned 2023 Kia Forte benefits from exciting new headlights, slightly different taillights, and new wheel design. There is a new Kia logo, too. Inside, it appears to have a more comprehensive touchscreen infotainment system and a digital gauge cluster. We don’t expect any major mechanical changes to the 2023 Kia Forte for the US market. You’ll likely keep the 2.0-liter inline engine, although it may drop the manual transmission from the base model and only offer an automatic transmission like its sibling, the Hyundai Elantra.
The more powerful GT model should continue with a more powerful 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
We expect this model to continue to offer guides like the current GT, which has a six-speed manual transmission as standard and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic as an option. The 2023 Kia Forte is a compact car that is only available in sedan form. The hatchback version disappeared with the last generation. Instead, the exterior reflects the design of Kia’s larger model, including the now-defunct Optima mid-size sedan.
The brand’s tiger-nose grill dominates the front of the fort. Unfortunately, the rest of his body contains more character lines and spoken sculptures than would be expected for this class. We hope to continue this design with some potential improvements with a refresher.
2023 Kia Forte Interior
Airy Forte has enough space for four or five people on a short trip. The 15.3-cubic-foot bar is huge for its class. Only the basic models have an affordable appearance. The Fortes upper offers better quality materials, with plenty of soft-touch materials, crisp tires and improved colors on the sporty models.
The 2023 Kia Forte currently comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, four speakers, and multiple USB ports in the tech arena. Six and eight speaker audio plans, navigation, and wireless charging pads are available. This may see some improvement if the update is correct.

2023 Kia Forte Engine
We expect most of the finishes to be driven by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. There’s also a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
It works with a 6-speed manual transmission or the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission found in the GT line. In addition, Kia added a multi-link rear suspension and a sports exhaust system to this model. Forte provides automatic emergency braking, active lane control and lane departure warnings on all versions on the safe side. Blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic warnings, and rear parking sensors are also available. This security feature will likely remain open.
Forte offers two different engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower, and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 201 horsepower. Unfortunately, the 2.0-liter engine felt sluggish when we tested it, and the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) didn’t help.
The non-turbo engine took 8.2 seconds to spur the Forte from zero to 60 mph on the test track—much slower than the Mazda 3—which got there in 7.0 seconds. However, the optional 201hp turbo puts the Forte GT in the same league as the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Honda Civic C. – At least in theory.
On our test track, the manual transmission-equipped GT test cars could hit 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, missing a bit the impressive speed of both drivers. The Forte provides a comfortable and stable ride, but the handling isn’t as attractive as the Stinger-inspired exterior, even on the sporty GT models.
When we used the Forte in recent comparative tests with the Civic Si and Volkswagen Jetta GLI, we found that the Forte worked hard to make up for the rest of the package.
2023 Kia Forte Fuel economy and MPG
2023 Kia Forte is equipped with a less powerful engine and automatic transmission, so that the driver passes through the gas station. With 40 mpg highway efficiency and 33 mpg fuel economy, this is where the Forte excels. However, if you choose a GT with a dual-clutch transmission, fuel economy drops to 30 mpg. In our 200-mile highway fuel economy test, the 2019 Forte scored 41 mpg, which is slightly better than the EPA rating.
The interior of this car has impressed us with its minimalist design and high-quality, high-quality materials. The rear seats are spacious enough for two adults to be comfortable, and long trips in the Forte can be taken without complaint.
The base model provides all the basics, but it becomes even more fun when working on different models. For example, dual-zone automatic climate control is optional, as are the heated and ventilated front seats. The Forte seats seven hand luggage with all seats, one more than its two main competitors, the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
2023 Kia Forte Information, entertainment and communication
The 2023 Kia Forte steals the spotlight when we look at the technology available, even down to the base model. Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are all standard on all trim levels. Wireless charging pad for smartphones is optional in GT-Line, EX and GT. However, an infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard.
Ex and GT models get SiriusXM satellite radio as standard, but this feature is optional on the GT-Line and not available on lower trim levels.

2023 Kia Forte release date and price
