The new 2023 Lexus RZ has been announced and will be the brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle. This little crossover was revealed during a presentation across Toyota‘s plans to launch 30 EVs by 2030. As far as we know, the new model will ride on the same e-TNGA platform that’s also available with models like the Toyota BZ4X 2023 and Subaru Solterra 2023. This means we can We expect the new 2023 Lexus RZ to use the same wire-guided steering and two-motor all-wheel drive system.
However, to separate the RZ model from the aforementioned, expect Lexus to tune in for performance. We received information that the setup should deliver more than 214 horsepower with an electric motor on the front and rear axles. In addition, there may also be a better battery capacity of 71.4 kWh.

The new 2023 Lexus RZ looks more attractive than any other Lexus model, thanks to the updated design language. The Lexus RZ was previewed last year in concept form, with a futuristic design. However, the network somehow looks better, probably due to closed networks. As we’ve seen with the LF-Z, the upcoming 2023 RZ comes with a nearly identical fast roofline and tall tailgate. The rear is also familiar and the RZ uses the taillights to a less dramatic effect than the concept version.
2023 Lexus RZ luxury interior
Inside, there are no pictures showing the interior of the upcoming 2023 Lexus RZ. Overall, we expect it to offer a more luxurious cabin than the current RX model. As far as we know, the new SUV will ride on the same e-TNGA platform as the 2023 Toyota BZ4X and 2023 Subaru Solterra, meaning we can expect enough room for five passengers in two rows of seats. We also assume the new infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa compatibility and a great audio setup.
As for safety features, the new 2023 RZ will offer a slew of them. It should include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic warning. Plus 10 airbags.
As mentioned, the manufacturer will likely tune the 2023 Lexus RZ to help differentiate it from the Toyota BZ4X and Subaru Solterra models. So expect Lexus to add performance tuning and deliver more than 214 horsepower. We’ve also heard that there’s a chance that Lexus will also add more battery capacity than the 71.4 kWh found on those non-luxury models.
