2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo Full Review New

The 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo is a futuristic SUV with a five-door, five-passenger engine, manufactured and marketed by Maserati. The 2023 Maserati Grecale SUV is a best-in-class space closet that maximizes capacity with a functional, well-crafted design. Maserati Grecale shares the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Giorgio platform and the fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. The name Grecale is derived from the Mediterranean spirit, Maserati Gregale.

The company’s new compact luxury crossover slots under the larger and mid-size Maserati Levante. Sportivo Pack, which adds 12-way adjustable flexible front seats with driver memory, synthetic suede front lining and sport pedals; We’ll also be running the Comfort and Convenience package, which includes heated rear seats, tightly closed doors, an electric boot lid, and adjustable foot pedals.

2023 Maserati Grecale Exterior

In the Maserati MC20, the face of the Grecale has Maserati‘s signature grille, but the full glossy body symbolizes a class with competitors such as Alfa Romeo Stelvio, BMW X3 and Porsche Macan. The 2023 Maserati Grecale comes standard with all-wheel drive and a 296-horsepower turbo four. A 325 hp version of this engine is available, and the cutting-edge Trofeo delivers high performance with a 523 hp twin-turbo V-6. Next year, the all-electric Maserati Grecale Folgore will be added to the list.

2023 Maserati Grecale Interior

Grace’s beautiful interior incorporates a flourish of advanced technology. In addition to the rich elements of the wardrobe, the dashboard houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touch screens in the center stack. The upper unit measures 12.3 inches and controls the infotainment system, while the lower 8.8 inches screen houses HVAC and other controls. A 3D weather system with an overhead display is preferred. Passengers should have plenty of room to relax as long as those in the back are not too tall or cross three times. The 2023 Maserati Grecale boot offers up to 20 cubic feet of space, and Maserati says the rear of the tilting rear seat has a flat floor with storage space underneath.

The Google-based Grecale infotainment system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen, but another 8.8-inch touchscreen controls other functions. Each model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and there’s a Wi-Fi hotspot available for subscription. Grecale’s infotainment system also works with voice commands such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

2023 Maserati Grecale Engine

The 2023 Maserati Grecale all-mode engine is equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Standard mill is a 296-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and a high-performance 325-hp version of this engine is also available on the Modena. An all-electric version has been announced, which will be called the Fulgur. It will be equipped with a 105 kWh battery and is expected to hit the market in 2023 as a 2024 model. Grecale’s fuel economy numbers haven’t been released from the EPA yet, but we expect similar performance from luxury SUV competitors like the BMW X3 The Lexus RX350 and Mercedes-Benz GLC class.

2023 Maserati Grecale Safety

Maserati offers a competitive Limited Warranty and powertrain, compared to other competing luxury brands in the industry. However, unlike BMW and Jaguar, the company does not offer modest official sponsorship. The 2023 Maserati Grecale is expected to have a wide range of standard and optional driver assistance systems by 2023. Key safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, forward sway monitoring, automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic warning.

2023 Maserati Grecale Prize

2023 Maserati Grecale starts at $64,995 for the entry-level GT model. The limited edition mid-level Grecale Modena starts at a suggested retail price of $77,400. The Grecale Award for Best Trofeo Model has yet to be announced.

2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo

Freed from a faltering and dysfunctional relationship with the horse crew, Maserati launched its MC20 carbon fiber supercar last year. Now comes the sequel. The 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo crossover features a modified version of the authentic Nettuno V-6 from the MC20. In the mid-seat engine, it’s rated at 621 horsepower, but in this mid-size SUV-esque thing, it’s tuned to produce 523 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. And while the first Trident rocket in the middle seventeen years ago has paid some American customers as much as $300,000 for one — according to Maserati Americas CEO Bill Peffer — the new mid-size SUV will be even more entry-priced. Affordable on a Maserati property, starting at $63,500.

And no, this starting price does not include all 523 ponies.

2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo engine

The GT’s 296-hp light-hybrid four-cylinder engine is the base model. Step up with the Modena with the same 2.0 programmed to generate 325 horsepower and a wider torque curve. Not quite sexy.

It’s 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo that sits on top. The Nettuno V-6’s twin-turbo engine is somewhat comfortable with the shape of its sports car, but it still packs a punch. It beats the peak power of the German competition from the GTS brand by 89 hp. This is the GTS as in the Porsche Macan GTS. As in the current compact crossover performance champion.

Most of the MC20’s good gates are intact. This version of Maserati‘s hot V-6 retains twin combustion and twin spark ignition, using different turbochargers, wet sump lubrication and right bank cylinder deactivation for efficiency. There is no trick that is hard to avoid. This is the latest Italian internal combustion.

My time behind the wheel of the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo was limited, with 90 percent of my ride being spent on the highway. Perhaps the lack of road exploration on the part of Maserati, perhaps a deliberate hint at what luxury SUVs are buying. In any case, the fastest Grecale combines a number of advantages that guarantee a pleasant journey, both as a driver and as a passenger.

Set above the premium offerings from Alfa Romeo, Lancia and DS as Stellantis’ most luxurious brand, Maserati has been able to enhance the FCA Giorgio platform without compromising its class-leading leadership. The Maserati Grecal’s wheelbase is 3.3 inches longer than the Alfa Stelvio’s, but 2.5 inches shorter than that of the SWB Jeep Grand Cherokee. Overall exterior dimensions are 191.3 x 77.9 x 65.3 inches for the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo, 190.8 x 77.9 x 65.5 inches for the Modena and 190.8 x 76.7 x 65.6 inches for the GT. What a longer, wider and lower V-6 is worth, given how well it fits in the chassis.

The 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo’s straight-line speed is reassuring, from zero to sixty in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph. The ZF eight-speed automatic transmission does its job smoothly and quickly at any speed, which makes it nothing short of jarring. Switch to Corsa mode for tighter roads, and Grecale is clearly more about luxurious riding than chasing lap times.

This high-end Giorgio platform comes with all-wheel drive, four-way front suspension, a multi-link rear setup, air springs and a self-locking electronic limited-slip rear differential. The result is a crossover that you can count on to work, but that also tunes in with very slow steering and a long pedal stroke. The calipers can be six- and four-piston Brembos, but they still hold steel rotors instead of carbon-ceramic.

2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo Exterior

The 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo’s exterior may be polarizing thanks to the presence of the Ford Puma, but it has to be said that the design language introduced with the MC20 looks elegant even in this oversized form. Recessed door handles are a nice touch, and on a nice sunny day, the curved taillights resemble the lever units of the original 1998 Maserati Giugiaro’s 1998 Maserati 3200 GT.

2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo interior

Inside the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo, nearly every surface is wrapped in an optional soft, vivid leather. Touch points speak for quality, the uncoated carbon-fiber finish on the roomy center console is the real deal, and standard audio in the form of the 14-speaker Sonus Faber audio system and digital assistant that replaces the traditional Maserati watch makes perfect sense. It can display a clock, a power meter, a g-meter or a compass, and it can also fulfill some functional wish after you say “Hello, Maserati“. My only complaint is that this digital watch, as a tagged gadget, should have a ring that is milled out of metal rather than machined out of plastic because although it is repaired, it prompts people to touch it. The rest of the Grecale’s infotainment is accessible via the 12.3-inch and 8.8-inch touch screens, with the largest being a diagonal hexagon in the middle, showing most of the features right on the first page.

As a high-performance SUV in the European market, the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo isn’t loud enough for my taste, despite being told that the tone of the intakes and exhausts largely depends on local regulations. This means that the Grecale can actually get louder for America, although that won’t change the way the mirrors generate as much wind noise on the highway.

As a luxury SUV, it doesn’t miss out on much from the Grecale package. The powertrain and cabin both feel like the next generation compared to the old Levante, and the rest is told in numbers. Maserati has lengthened the chassis so that there is plenty of room for legs and shoulders in the front and rear. Looking back at the Porsche Macan, Maserati claims “nearly 7 inches” of extra legroom, and also says that thanks to all that space and accessibility, 99 percent of residents should find the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo comfortable. Since I’m quite tall, I definitely did.

2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo will launch as a well-equipped, limited edition online-only Modena, followed by regular GTs, Modenas and Trofeos on the road. Interestingly enough, Maserati has also converted the Giorgio platform into an EV skateboard for the 2025 Grecale Folgore, which will use the 400-volt system in place of the GranTurismo setup and the future 800-volt MC20 Folgore, which is rated at 1,200 horsepower. With its first electric SUV, Maserati aims to produce just over 500 hp and a range of more than 500 km thanks to a 105 kWh battery pack.

Four-cylinder mild hybrid first, soon after the supercharged V-6, long-range EV. Say hello to the Maserati Grecal family.
