The highly anticipated 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 has been spied for the first time. The German manufacturer is working on the next generation of the C-Class and a spying prototype confirms this. The AMG C63 is the high-performance variant that looks sportier and more aggressive. Previous spy photos showed prototypes of the standard C-Class model and the Mercedes-AMG C43 version.
The new C-Class will go on sale next year, likely like the 2022 model. We’re more interested in this performance-oriented alternative. This model will arrive later than the regular version due to new engine technology. The price is not yet known but we are expecting an excellent price.
2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 Hybrid specs
Two years ago, Mercedes confirmed that the new generation C63 would come with a hybrid engine. Reports predict a mild hybrid setup that uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The V8 would no longer be on display if it really did. A 2.0-liter engine is available for the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63, which produces 415 hp in the S version. To be precise, the CLA45 S is the model that offers this type of power unit. The addition of a mild hybrid powertrain should provide more power, up to 503 horsepower. Plus, the 515 lb-ft of torque sounds great.

This hybrid system would be similar to the AMG 53-series hybrid system. To be precise, a 48-volt electric motor replaces the starter motor and alternator. It’s a common setup you’ll find on vehicles with internal combustion engines. The hybrid powertrain boosts under high loads and restores power during travel and braking. Mercedes has yet to release any other details, such as fuel efficiency numbers, transmission and electric range.

For starters, the new 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 is equipped with lightweight materials. The goal is to maximize fuel economy so that the nose of the car is lighter. In addition, larger air intakes appear in the front panel, while the rear one comes with a prominent diffuser. The rear of the car carries four square exhaust heads, which looks very sporty. This model will ride on a modified version of the MRA platform that uses the standard rear-wheel drive system.
2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 Interior updates
The spy photos did not provide any internal details. The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 is sure to offer many updates, including a new and larger portrait-style touchscreen. You will find the same unit in the new S-Class sedan. The infotainment system gets an update and the interior is packed with AMG signature touches. This includes unique bucket seats, an AMG steering wheel and a new drive mode selector.

2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 Release Date
The upcoming 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 will go on sale in the second half of 2022. The S variant will be launched a few months earlier as the 63S version will undergo a radical transformation in engine technology. The price is not yet available and it may be too early to predict a possible starting price.
