2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Full Review New

The 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comes standard with the company’s legendary All-Wheel Drive (S-AWC) system, along with a few other upgrades for the new model year.

The company began selling the Eclipse Cross in the US in 2018, playing as the iconic coupe from the past. Currently, the car comes standard with front-wheel drive. S-AWC is available as a $1,600 add-on.

The S-AWC gained fame as the supporting engine behind the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, which was the preferred choice for rallying (dirt-road racing) and street driving from 1992 to 2016.

2023 Eclipse Cross Exterior

The 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is largely based on the restyling that marked the key to the previous model year. This update featured a reworked grille with a shield design intended to evoke a more sporty feel. The hexagonal design of the rear is reminiscent of the company’s vehicles of the past.

The overhaul resulted in an SUV that was more than five centimeters longer than previous models.

Besides the size, you’ll notice the only significant changes on the LE, SE and SEL trims, which get a new design for 18-inch alloy wheels. The underside of the SEL is now matched to the body color. Front bumper bezels have been added to the SE and LED headlights and fog lights are now standard.

2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross interior

The interior has remained largely unchanged, with either cloth or leather seats available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The suite of standard safety features across all trims on the 2023 Eclipse Cross includes Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Restriction with Pedestrian Detection.

The automatic high beam can now be seen on the LE, SE and SEL levels. On SE and higher equipment, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are standard.
