2023 Scion tC. The 2023 Scion tC is a hybrid vehicle manufactured by Scion, under the design of Toyota. The Scion tC two-door sports coupe has a peppy engine and very fast grip. The rear and open seats hatchback also make it a practical car. However, the 2023 tC is disappointing with its seemingly cheap interior, solid ride and lack of essentials like a rearview camera. The 2023 Scion tC is a five-passenger compact hatchback coupe offered at one crucial price.

The 2023 Scion tC has a standard 7-inch touchscreen, plus keyless entry and ignition, a rear wiper, and a few interior tweaks. The front-wheel drive Scion tC features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder inboard engine that produces 179 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed automatic transmission with automatic downshift to the tachometer is optional.

Typical features include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, folding side mirrors with LED turn signals, keyless entry and ignition, air conditioning, cruise control, full power accessories, panoramic sunroof with dual manual sunshades, and six-manual seat. Adjustable speeds, track length and one-touch backrest, leather-covered gear knob with tilt steering wheel and telescoping with volume controls, silver interior, split-back and 60/40-folding. Rear seat, Bluetooth connectivity, 7-inch display, voice control, eight-speaker Pioneer audio system with HD Radio, Aha smartphone app integration, auxiliary audio jack and USB port.

2023 Scion tC Interior

Inside, the 2023 Scion tC’s cabin has a very sporty look. With a thick, flat steering wheel, movable seatposts and sharp driver-facing controls, TC strives for a quality vehicle. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the cabinet is tainted by the abundance of cheap plastic and small armored chairs. The Scion tC is five-seater with an open locker, but it’s disappointing with the extendable interior. The front seats are supportive and have large side screws that fit around the hip, although the seats are fixed. The rear seats fit two adults well and can seat, but taller passengers can get a solid back space. There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors to protect child seats in 2023.

All 2023 Scion tC Coupe is equipped with a 7-inch display, speech recognition, a groundbreaking audio system with eight speakers, Bluetooth, USB and Auxiliary inputs, and keyless entry. Satellite navigation is available with Scion‘s Bespoke Audio software, but there is no rear view camera. However, the touch screen is easy to use. The rear seats have more legroom than the average and the rear and rear doors are as simple as a two-door system. The rear seat is seated, which is the hallmark of the crossover SUV. Behind the rear seats, the Scion TC can carry up to 14.7 cubic feet of payload, while folding those rear seats offers a total of 34.5 cubic feet of space. The hatchback’s body style also means it’s easier to load larger items into the TC than a traditional coupe like the Kia Forte Koup.

2023 Scion tC Engine

The 179-horsepower four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive are common features of the tC. The standard six-speed manual transmission is easy to use, while the current six-speed automatic transmission is rev-matched. This feature enables sporty driving by increasing the engine speed when shifting to a lower gear. For each transfer, the TC returns the city highway/EPA at 23/30 mpg, the lowest in the class. The 2023 tC is packed with great grip and brakes, but it’s not nice to have sporty driving as a priority. The TC also doesn’t ride smoothly in uneven terrain.

2023 Scion tC Safety
