2023 Tesla Roadster Full Review New

2023 Tesla Roadster. Teslas are already recognized for being sleek and quick, but an even sleeker and quicker variant is on the way: Tesla is bringing back the Roadster. The original Tesla Roadster was the company’s first vehicle and was simply a Lotus Elise with a Tesla powertrain. The new Roadster, however, is distinct and has been designed from the ground up.

Even though most Model S and Model X buyers don’t recall it, the first Tesla Roadster placed the all-electric automaker on the map. The new model was originally scheduled to come in 2021, however it has not yet been released, leading us to suspect it has been delayed. The second-generation Roadster surpasses its predecessor with the addition of two small back seats, a vastly increased driving range, and a substantially enhanced degree of performance. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, touted a 60-mph sprint time of 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 mph when the Roadster concept was shown in 2017; we hope these stats are accurate when this sports car arrives.

2023 Tesla Roadster design

Based on the designs we’ve seen thus far, the 2023 Tesla Roadster is expected to be the most elegant Tesla yet. It will have a low center of gravity and an aerodynamic two-door coupe shape, giving it a sporty and contemporary appearance. The vehicle will have four seats, enabling for more passengers than the original Roadster’s two-seat configuration; nevertheless, the rear two seats are not expected to be particularly spacious. The car will also have 19-inch wheels and a more aggressive design than the previous iteration.

EV Motor, Performance, and Power

In November 2017, when the new Tesla Roadster was shown as a concept, Musk promised some unrealistic performance specifications, including a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds, a top speed of more than 250 mph, and a quarter-mile time of just 8.8 seconds. That is ludicrous. If this 60-mph pace holds, the Roadster will be a full second faster than its primary competitor, the gasoline-powered McLaren 570S. Musk also mentioned during this session that the Roadster will feature standard all-wheel drive. This is less unexpected. It would make sense for the Roadster to utilize two electric motors—one at the front and one at the rear—to drive all four wheels, as is the case with Tesla‘s standard EV vehicles.

Range, Battery Charging, and Lifespan

The 200-kWh battery is rumored to provide up to 620 miles of range, but that number will be feasible only under extremely minimal use; a few circuits around the track at top speed will significantly reduce that estimate.

Energy Efficiency and Real-World MPGe

The EPA has not yet issued its ratings for the Roadster’s fuel efficiency, although this information will likely become available closer to the car’s on-sale date. We hope to be given the opportunity to test the new 2023 Tesla Roadster. If/when we do, we will conduct our highway fuel economy test at 75 mph and share the results here.

The 2023 Tesla Roadster will be a performance beast. It will have a zero-to-60 time of 1.9 seconds thanks to its three electric motors and a top speed of 250 mph, although the latter will likely be regulated for safety reasons. Additionally, the vehicle will have a range of 620 miles on a single charge, making it the longest-ranged electric vehicle currently in production.

2023 Tesla Roadster Cargo, Comfort, and Interior

Currently, the Roadster is simply a concept, and in general, concepts undergo significant transformations as they are transformed into production vehicles. The 2023 Tesla Roadster concept, as depicted, has a removable glass-panel roof that can be stowed in the trunk. It features four seats, although with the Roadster’s steeply sloping roof, the back seats may not accommodate people. Other than that, we anticipate to see Tesla‘s distinctive minimalist interior design duplicated here.

The inside design of the 2023 Tesla Roadster will also be modified in comparison to earlier models. It will have a completely redesigned dashboard and center console, as well as upgraded materials and amenities such as heated seats and a panoramic roof. Unlike previous Tesla vehicles, the Roadster appears to feature a display that is integrated into the central console, as opposed to a floating display. The Roadster may use a yoke instead of a regular steering wheel, while the latter may be available as an option.

Informational Entertainment and Connectivity

A big touchscreen runs from the top of the dashboard all the way to the center console, with a storage compartment beneath it. No vehicle in Tesla‘s portfolio supports features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or Amazon Alexa compatibility, and we don’t anticipate that to change with the Roadster. In fact, if the entertainment system in the Model 3 sedan is any indication of what will be included in the Roadster, AM radio and SiriusXM will not be available. We expect Tesla to equip drivers with an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, Spotify integration, and a variety of visual entertainment apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube to keep them occupied while parked and charging.

2023 Tesla Roadster cost and release date

Despite the fact that the Roadster was initially announced in 2017 with a release date of 2020, that window has passed. At present time, we anticipate that the vehicle will be released in 2023. The price is anticipated to begin at roughly $200,000, but if you purchase the vehicle with extras and performance enhancements, it could potentially cost more.

Of course, by the time the Roadster is released, other electric vehicles may have surpassed it in terms of speed or range, and other businesses have committed to releasing their own high-performance electric vehicles. However, the Tesla Roadster will likely remain one of the most remarkable EVs on the market and an excellent choice for individuals who desire speed and range without sacrificing flair.
