The 2023 Volvo XC100 is one step closer to production. The latest publications are promising. When asked, the chiefs didn’t deny that the SUV was in development. However, Volvo has not yet confirmed the XC100. The rumors have been circulating for a while. It is not difficult to guess where the SUV will be located. The alphanumeric designation indicates that the car will be larger than the XC90. This means that the Swedish automaker is ready to jump on the bandwagon along with BMW and Audi. The first manufacturer recently added a full-size luxury SUV to its portfolio – the X7, while the second automaker is about to do the same with the Q9.
Volvo is a well known company. Their cars are modern, luxurious and above all safe. And a little more expensive than the competition. But buyers get unparalleled performance. The Swedish automaker is also thinking about the environment. They already supply pure electric and hybrid powertrains for all crossovers and SUVs. In the near future, all Volvo models will be electric. The powertrain is the biggest concern about the upcoming full-size car. All current configurations are based on the 2.0-liter unit. Yes, the turbo and supercharger help the XC60 and XC90 get enough power. But the full-size 2023 Volvo XC100 needs more cylinders, that’s for sure.

What do we know so far?
There are a few reliable sources that state that the SUV is in development. But for now, all we can say is that the 2023 Volvo XC100 will be bigger than any other SUV from the Swedish automaker. Some say that the new platform supports the car. No wonder, since geometry must support volume. SPA2 is the answer and we can already hear that the upcoming Polestar vehicle will use it. The project code name is V616. All these numbers indicate something. The first 6 is the prototype, the number 1 of the first series and the last 6 indicate the type of car – SUV.
The XC100 is set to become the largest model in the family, with a chassis longer than the XC90 by about 10-12 inches. And the mid-size SUV is already one of the largest. More rumors we’ve heard in the past may finally come true. Volvo promised advanced levels of autonomous driving, citing Level 4. This is almost a completely autonomous system. We can’t underestimate the reports, but it would be a huge leap for the company that is about to skip Level 3. Unfortunately, the 2023 Volvo XC100 spy photos are not yet available to give fans hints of what to expect.
2023 Volvo XC100 Interior
Since the SUV will be larger than any other, we can expect a more comfortable ride. Well, drivers will have to get used to its size, which will harm maneuverability and maneuverability. On the other hand, all this extra space will be used to improve the legroom in the cockpit. The interior of the 2023 Volvo XC100 has three rows of seats, just like the XC90. But compared to the mid-size model, the new SUV can seat up to eight people. The biggest improvement is the rear seat, which accommodates adults, not just children. In addition to autonomous driving, engineers and designers will work on safety and infotainment. Premium materials and advanced features are already here, and Volvo will upgrade them.

The Swedish automaker is not saying no to this. A more accurate question would be: when will the 2023 Volvo XC100 recharge be available? Will the start go with the standard lineup? What type of electric motor is used?
First of all: Reloading the XC100 will be a huge SUV. If you look at other full-size models, you need time to find another hybrid. Don’t go look for an EV on your own. Volvo has started the electrification process. Currently, we’ve seen the debut of the XC40 Recharge – an all-electric crossover, and the XC60 Recharge – the PHEV configuration of the compact SUV. We are still waiting for the Volvo XC90 to be recharged. Hard to predict EV. But again, don’t underestimate Volvo. If any company can pull this off, it’s the Swedish automaker.
