2024 Acura RLX Full Review New

2024 Acura RLX. Acura, Honda‘s luxury arm, launched the RLX Sport in 2024 in an effort to revive the old luxury vehicle manufacturer’s legendary athletic reputation. A welcome return for the firm is the Acura RLX 2024, which is described as a high-performance S-type and resembles an early concept sketch. The high-performance version will have a turbocharged V-6 engine, while the powerful, normal engine will be a turbocharged four-cylinder.

All Acuras come standard with SH-AWD, the company’s all-wheel drive system designed to improve handling. A new foundation and a more complex chassis have improved ride and handling compared to the previous version. Acura redesigned the RLX’s cabin for 2024 to better rival luxury sedans like the BMW 3-series and Cadillac CT5.

2024 Acura RLX Redesign

Acura‘s best-selling sedan, the RLX Sport, will get a new exterior appearance for 2024. During development, the new series was named “Seven-Second Knockout” to demonstrate the company’s goal of making it more fun to use than its predecessor. Dimensions of length, width and height of this sports sedan provide an even more impressive appearance when driving. The chassis has been revamped with a new powertrain and SH-AWD all-wheel drive system.

The iteration of the legendary Type S from the 2008 TL isn’t the only rumor about Acura‘s future use of the Type S name. If you look around, you can make significant savings on the 2024 RLX. Among the many benefits is this: For the sake of efficiency, we will choose the Basic plan. We stuck with the standard 18-inch wheels that come on the base model instead of upgrading to the more expensive Advance or A-Spec packages.

The cost will increase by $7,550 if you choose not to do both because it is not possible to do both at the same time. There are a number of goodies included in the tech package, like 19-inch aluminum wheels, genuine leather seats, driver aids and power upgrades, but we don’t think they’re worth the extra $4,500. Get the SH-AWD System for an additional $2,000; It deserves the increased comfort and all-weather traction.

2024 Acura RLX Interior Rumors

The interior of the 2024 Acura RLX is clearly designed to express the car’s sporty nature. Some examples include a rotary knob for selecting the specific driving mode (among other things) and a beautiful analog scale. Compared to its predecessors, the RLX’s refined cabin is a shining example of Acura‘s expertise as an automobile manufacturer.

The sedan’s interior offers plenty of room for passengers, both front and rear. However, when compared to vehicles in the same price range, the rear seats seem cramped. The moving dashboard and good front sight make up for it. The interior of the RLX is luxurious, with a wealth of customizable finishes and quality fixtures and tools. The second is equipped with a head-up display and a dimmable ambient lighting system with modes such as “Pacific Coast” and “Suzuka”, named after the driving target and the famous racetrack, respectively.

The majority of the capabilities of each RLX entertainment system are controlled by touching the touchpad in the center console. You can also use the buttons on the wheel or other controls located near the touchpad to perform certain tasks. There is a comfortable spot under the touchpad to rest your wrist. The RLX has Wi-Fi and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for connecting mobile applications. The most expensive Advance plan includes a wireless charging pad and the best ELS audio system.

2024 Acura RLX Powertrain Specification Performance

The Acura RLX Sport 2024 comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. When the front tires lose traction or control, Acura‘s optional all-wheel drive system (called SH-AWD) sends power to the rear wheels. Our test vehicle’s top speed was capped at two tons we loaded it into. The Honda Accord 2.0T, which we also tested, has less power but is lighter and can reach 60 mph faster (5.9 seconds).

Acura hasn’t made a sports sedan in a long time, but the RLX more than makes up for it with a well-tuned chassis and pleasant driving dynamics. With a 355-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo V-6, a fast 10-speed automatic, SH-AWD and sport suspension, the Model S is a great example of this philosophy. Summer tires and lighter 20-inch alloy wheels make this RLX variation more maneuverable than the standard RLX. The first time we drove the car, we noticed that the engine was powerful, very pleasant to run, had good body control, and stopped quickly and reliably.

It’s not as fast as the Audi S4, for example, and it has a tough ride that doesn’t absorb the impact of the road. The EPA claims that the RLX’s front-wheel drive engine can achieve up to 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. With the SH-AWD installed, mileage is reduced to 21/29 mpg city/highway straight.

Acura‘s performance is on par with front-wheel drive competitors such as the Volkswagen Arteon. However, the Class 3 gets better mileage due to its four-cylinder engine and standard all-wheel drive. The RLX Type S gets 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, according to EPA ratings. So far, we’ve only tested the base model, which we found records 30 mpg on our highway fuel economy at 75 mpg.

Update

The Acura RLX, the company’s flagship sedan for 2021, will get a major upgrade this year, according to the popular manufacturer. As you know, this model is built on a platform that rivals the latest cars such as the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Genesis G80. However, all of these models offer more luxury, comfort and pocketability than the latest RLX models. In addition, the RLX sedan has almost all the standard features at a price that rivals thousands. In terms of resale value, the new 2021 Acura RLX outperforms Sweden’s Volvo S90 and is behind the Lexus GS, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Genesis G80.

2021 Acura RLX Design Outline

The Factory Acura does a great job in terms of design. The new 2021 Acura RLX is a mid-size sedan that embraces a new design language, also seen in crossovers such as the RDX and MDX. Personally, all models will share a lot of guides, but the RLX will have more upgrades.

In terms of dimensions, the RLX model is 198 inches long. Moreover, compared to competitors such as the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the RLX is much longer than the two. We love its customizable knock-down look thanks to its many optional packages. For example, you can get some extras like a trunk lid spoiler, a different design of 19-inch alloy wheels, and the expected RLX badge.

The Cab Provides Great Comfort

The highlight of the new 2021 Acura RLX is the interior. This model provides excellent comfort and spaciousness. The front seats are not only comfortable and supportive, but also wider than before. In the rear, there’s 38.8 inches of legroom and 36.9 inches of headroom.

The overall interior design is among the best in the sedan segment. In general, the cabin is pleasant and high-tech. Standard equipment includes leather seats, heated 12-way front seats, a 14-speaker audio system, 3-zone climate control, sunroof, navigation with real-time traffic updates, Bluetooth, USB port, and HD Radio. The RLX Sport Hybrid is the top choice, and this model offers a Krell audio system, heated exterior rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and more.

Protection

The AcuraWatch driver help set will include a longer list of features. This package includes forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane guard assist, and a multi-view camera system.

Under The Hood

The best part about the 2021 Acura RLX is that it will use two different types of engines and one of them will use a hybrid system. First, the base model will be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. In addition, the front wheels are used as standard via a 10-speed automatic transmission using steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The next engine is even more incredible. As mentioned, this powertrain will consist of a hybrid system. Up front is a 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor. Furthermore, each rear wheel will also use an electric motor. Thanks to it, this entire system develops 377 horsepower. The transmission used in this model is a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch manual transmission with a paddle transmission. According to the latest ratings, the hybrid will offer an EPA city/highway fuel economy of 28/29 mpg.

Release Date And Price

The popular Acura RLX sedan will look more aggressive than ever. In addition, this model will have many advantages if we compare it with other competitors in the same segment. The highlight of this model is the specific hybrid drive system. The Acura RLX sedan costs $54,900, excluding the $1,025 destination fee.

However, for the Sport Hybrid model, buyers will have to pay just under $62,000. In the same division, there are the Genesis G80 models starting at $42,500, the Audi A6 for $54,900, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class for $54,000. As you can see, the RLX is one of the most expensive models arriving later this year.

There is a lot to say about the new 2021 Acura RLX. This sedan offers great comfort, plenty of standard driver assistance, and best of all, a hybrid powertrain. The minuses this time include the loss of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto and a much higher price than some competitors.
