2024 BMW 5 Full Review New

While the 2024 BMW 5 Series is a far cry from being revealed, sightings of a camouflaged prototype have sparked some interest and curiosity. The upcoming 5 Series will be the eighth generation of the line, and the luxury sedan continues to generate interest among its loyal fans. As if that wasn’t enough, Magnus.Concepts created a meditative and imaginative rendering of the ride of the prototype that emerged, giving a better understanding of what the sedan would look like.

2024 BMW 5 Updated design

The current 2024 BMW 5 was introduced in 2016 and underwent a facelift in 2020. Therefore, the new car is expected to be restyled in 2023. Judging by an insider tip, the new generation will be built on the CLAR platform. It will come with plug-in hybrids, diesel and petrol as well as all electric variants while the all-electric variant is called the i5.

2024 BMW 5 Possible exterior design

The 5 Series prototype (with its plug-in hybrid) was spotted in Munich. Although it is completely covered in camouflage, you can see the silhouette. It showed off a dynamic look with traditional 3-box proportions. The bodywork is a little more sculpted than the current model, yet it still retains the famous Hofmeister grille. There are powerful headlights with larger kidneys. At the rear, there’s a coupe-style roofline and thinner taillights connected to an LED strip.

It seems that the new 5 Series will come with a curved instrument panel. The handlebars look different than the current handlebar, so it’s very likely that the Beemer is developing a new style. The current one comes with matte buttons, while the one on the prototype has black piano touch-sensitive buttons. The Beemer may have been inspired by the VW Golf Mk8. If this is true, then the interior will certainly have a new aesthetic.

2024 BMW 5 Powertrain and performance

The 2024 BMW 5 will come with four and six cylinders, which can also be found in current production. But the upcoming Fifth Series will come with a light hybrid system to boost efficiency. The plug-in hybrid system will start by mixing a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder with one (or two) electric motors, fit for 500 hp. But the company also offers an internal combustion unit for those who want a regular powertrain rather than an electrified one.

How about an all-electric i5? You can distinguish it from the others thanks to the aerodynamic wheel designs, blue intake accents, a different grille and the absence of exhaust pipes. The basic equipment will probably be the RWD and the electric motor, which generates 300 horsepower. The xDrive50 will come with two electric motors, fit for 500 hp. The all-electric sedan will compete with the EQE Mercy, Tesla Model S and Audi A6 eTron.

The Beemer has yet to be confirmed, but the Touring (5 series) is likely to be launched after the four-door sedan, which offers more practicality and power. As a 2024 model, availability is likely in 2023, although the exact date is not known. The price is also unknown, so we have to wait for the official release about 2024 BMW 5.
