2024 BMW M3 CS Redesign Update

2024 BMW M3 CS. Even without add-ons, the BMW M3 car is an excellent product. However, now that M has issued a CSL version of the M4 coupe to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary. Enthusiasts are eagerly expecting the advent of the “Competition Sport” edition, the M3’s flagship model. BMW‘s M3 CS, which was discontinued in 2018, is the line’s flagship model. As only tidbits are revealed, the hottest M3 sedan remains a mystery. Placing it above the M3 Competition but below the M4 CSL

With the same engine as the M4 CSL, the M3 CS should be more nimble and quicker than its predecessors. The new BMW M3 CS sedan will be the most agile variant of the M3, and it may be the model we’ve been waiting for since the beginning of the current generation. The CS designation has a long and storied history, appearing most recently on the M2 and M5. It will be fascinating to see if they are able to offer a suitable alternative to the Audi RS5 Sportback and Mercedes-AMG C63 Sedan. Two of the normal M3’s main competitors.

2024 BMW M3 CS Redesign

BMW will release a special edition M3 named the Edition 50 Jahre BMW M in 2024 to commemorate 50 years of motorsports performance. Only 500 will be made available in the Americas, and they will be offered in five “reimagined” versions of classic BMW M3 hues from the previous five models. The remainder of the exterior of the special edition M3 has matte gray alloy wheels. A carbon fiber front splitter, quad tailpipes with carbon fiber tips, and a carbon fiber roof.

Another option for the seating surfaces is a black Merino leather with multicolored M stripes and contrast stitching. BMW‘s newest operating system powers the M3’s curved instrument cluster’s new standard. The Driver Recorder is no longer included in the Parking Assistance package, but is available as an add-on. No longer included in the Executive Plan is gesture control.

Design

The BMW M3 CS 2024 is rumored to be significantly lighter than the M3 Competition. Due to its substantial usage of carbon fiber. There will be a carbon fiber roof, a carbon tailgate with a lip spoiler. And a front bumper with a spoiler based on the design of the M4 CSL. Based on the revamped 3 Series, the reworked headlights will include yellow DRL signatures to match those of the M5 CS. And the dominant kidney grilles will feature a new design inspired by the CSL.

We anticipate 18- and 19-inch front and rear wheels, with 19- and 20-inch possibilities. We are willing to consider other color schemes and wheel designs. Some paint schemes may be exclusive to particular models. Although it has not been officially announced, the BMW M3 CS will likely only be available in two or three exterior colors: black, white, and a unique hue comparable to the Misano Blue and Frozen Deep Green Metallic seen on the M2 CS and M5 CS, respectively.

Due to a lack of official data, the G80 M3 sedan’s measurements can be used to estimate the dimensions of the 2024 BMW M3 convertible. The M3 sedan measures 189.1 inches in length, 74.3 inches in width, and 56.4 inches in height. The entire structure has a wheelbase of 112.5 inches. The M3 CS’s customized bodywork should be refined with the final number, although it could drastically increase the others.

The 2024 BMW M4 CSL weights 3,650 pounds, which is approximately 340 pounds less than the 2022 BMW M3 Competition. Due to the addition of an extra row of seats and all-wheel drive, the M3 CS will likely have a curb weight in the 3,800-pound range.

Interior

The BMW M3 CS 2024 is anticipated to have a cabin that is more technologically advanced and sportier than the current model. Ready-to-Run M Bucket seats are a given up front, although whispers have circulated concerning their presence in the rear. The front seats will be upholstered with carbon fiber and merino leather with extended grain. The M3 CS can accommodate two more people than its coupe sister due to its sedan body shape. On the doors, dashboard, and center console, sumptuous Alcantara and several CS emblems can be found. If history teaches us anything, pull straps may replace traditional door handles.

Beginning in 2024, the BMW Curved Display and eighth-generation iDrive will be standard equipment in all BMW automobiles. The CS will include a 14.9-inch infotainment display with navigation and smartphone connection, in addition to a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. The BMW M3 CS’s trunk space is projected to be comparable to that of the standard M3 sedan. This would be helpful for transporting groceries and school materials (13 cubic feet).

Engine

Using the same 3.0 liter turbocharged straight-six S58 engine as previous M models such as the M4 CSL, the BMW M3 CS 2024 is predicted to generate roughly 540 horsepower. According to rumors, the new M4 CS sedan will have the same 543 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque as the forthcoming M4 CSL. The M3 CS will only be offered with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, according to reports. The rear-wheel-drive-only M4 CSL claims a 0–60 mph time of 3.6 seconds, however the all-wheel-drive M3 CS may be faster.

The EPA estimates that the RWD M3 Competition and Sedan with the same powertrain get 16/23/19 mpg city/highway/combined while the AWD versions get 16/22/18 mpg city/highway/combined. Due to a powertrain optimized for CS-levels of power and standard all-wheel drive, it is improbable that the 2024 BMW M3 CS would achieve better fuel economy.

Release Date And Price

The majority of estimates place the price of a 2024 BMW M3 CS at $85,000 and $95,000. Given the anticipated low production volume of the M3 CS and the starting MSRP of the M3 and M4 Competition variants around the middle of $70,000. The premium is reasonable. The original edition, M3 CS, was limited to 1,200 units. And we expect the second generation to have a similar quantity. The BMW M3 CS’s official release date in the United States has not yet been determined. But we estimate it will be in the early spring of 2023. Production is anticipated to commence in March 2023.

2024 BMW M3 CS Update

Since the 2018 model year, the BMW M3 CS luxury sports sedan has been regarded as a formidable track weapon, packed with BMW‘s most advanced performance technologies and a reduced curb weight for enhanced handling. The German carmaker has now unveiled the limited-run 2024 M3 CS, which will be manufactured in small numbers.

Lighter Weight, Redesigned Style

The exterior design of the 2024 M3 CS is virtually identical to that of the previous 3 Series versions. The roof, hood, front splitter, front air intakes, mirror caps, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler are all constructed from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic to shed as much weight as possible. On the shift paddles, center console, and interior trim of the M3 CS, CFRP is also utilized. In addition to the standard M Carbon sport bucket seats, BMW was able to reduce the M3 Competition xDrive’s excess weight by 75 pounds.

In addition to its reduced weight, the 2024 M3 CS stands apart from the crowd due to model-specific stylistic details. Individual Frozen Solid White metallic paint and exposed carbon-fiber exterior surfaces are unique to this model.

Improved Efficiency

The 2024 M3 CS is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that now produces 543 horsepower (an increase of 40 horsepower over the M3 Competition) and 479 pound-feet of torque. BMW asserts that the majority of this performance increase comes from increasing the boost pressure in the turbochargers and modifying the engine management. The only powertrain is an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive is standard. BMW claims that this combination. Coupled with the optional M Driver’s Package, allows the 2024 M3 CS to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 188 mph.

Pricing and Publication Date

The 2024 BMW M3 CS will arrive in showrooms later this year, with production commencing in March. BMW has stated that the M3 CS will be a limited-production model, but has not specified the exact number of cars that will be produced. The starting price will be $119,695, which includes a $995 destination fee.

2024 BMW M3 CS Updates

Since the E9 era, BMW has produced Clubsport models to signify the next-best vehicle after the CSL. After the previous-generation M3 underwent the CS treatment in late 2017 with an increase in power and a reduction in weight. Its replacement is unveiled today with the same recipe. Similar to the F80, it is only available with an automatic transmission, but there is a significant difference. The new M3 CS comes equipped with xDrive (with selectable RWD), whereas its predecessor utilized RWD.

BMW M engineers have tweaked the 3.0-liter twin-turbo “S58” engine to produce 543 horsepower and fully match the RWD-only M4 CSL. It is not the most powerful inline-six engine in the company’s history. As the extremely uncommon 3.0 CSL has 553 horsepower. Peak torque remains the same at 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) compared to the M3 Competition xDrive upon which the CS is based.

In addition to an additional 40 horsepower, the M3 CS loses around 75 pounds (34 kilograms) due to a diet of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. BMW‘s hood, front splitter, air intakes, side mirror caps, rear diffuser, and trunk lid spoiler all feature CFRP. The interior shift paddles, center console, and trim strips are all composed of CFRP. Which is also used to construct the roof. Which is made of the same lightweight yet resilient material.

Specs

The diet also has a titanium rear silencer and two carbon-shelled front bucket seats. In addition, we observe that the rear air vents and controls have been eliminated in an effort to shed extra pounds. The M4 CSL went a step further by eliminating the rear seats, which was obviously illogical for a four-door vehicle. In recent years, however, Jaguar has sold the wild XE SV Project 8 in a two-seat arrangement. Both the previous-generation M3 CS and the larger M5 CS had rear seats, although the latter eliminated the bench in favor of two individual seats with enhanced lateral support.

The M3 CS accelerates from zero to sixty miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.2 seconds, which is two-tenths of a second faster than the Competition xDrive. The included M Driver’s Package allows the rapid sedan to exceed an electronically limited 188 mph (303 km/h).

The design is contentious, and we are not necessarily referring to the massive pair of kidneys. The M3 CS includes yellow daytime running lights to echo the M4 CSL, M5 CS, and race cars. It is painted in a striking Signal Green from the Individual catalog. The grille’s contour is finished in red, much like the hard-core coupe, and the front bumper has been mostly retained. Furthermore, the exposed carbon fiber parts of the hood are reminiscent of the M4 CSL.

Color

BMW will also offer the super sedan in Frozen Solid White Individual, Black Sapphire, and Brooklyn Grey metallic paints. In addition to a Frozen Solid White Individual paint option. Inside, the electric and heated front seats are upholstered in Merino leather with Mugello red highlights and lighted “CS” insignia. Door sill plates with the “M3 CS” logo, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and the iconic M colors on the seatbelts complete the modifications.

Even though it is the most powerful M3 to date. BMW nevertheless charges extra for carbon ceramic brakes because the base model comes with compound brakes. The 275/35 ZR19 front and 285/30 ZR20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are a no-cost option for the matte black or gold bronze forged wheels.

BMW states that the 2024 BMW M3 CS will be produced in “restricted numbers”. But declines to provide a specific figure. Logic suggests that it will be less exclusive than the M4 CSL. Which only 1,000 copies will be produced worldwide. With a starting price of $118,700 (plus $995 for shipping and handling). The sporty sedan in US standard will enter production in March at the Munich plant.
