The new 2024 Chevrolet Trax is back, and it remains an affordable vehicle, with prices beginning at $21,495 for the base model. The next generation of SUVs, according to Chevrolet, will be larger and equipped with more features than you can imagine. Despite its updated body and engine, the Trax remains one of Chevrolet‘s entry-level vehicles. The new Trax shares the same platform as the resurrected Trailblazer and is aimed at budget-conscious consumers who desire a more spacious Trailblazer crossover. According to reports, the upcoming 2024 Chevrolet Trax will feature a new 1.2-liter turbocharged I3 engine in place of the previous 1.4-liter four-cylinder.
2024 Chevrolet Trax Exterior Dimensions and Exterior Design
The Trax was smaller than the Trailblazer in retrospect. Nevertheless, the 2024 model is unexpectedly larger than the Trailblazer. The old Trax measured 167.6 inches in length, while the new one measures 11 inches longer at 173.5 inches. In addition, the design has been enhanced. The Trax’s recognizable grille is now surrounded by horizontal lines that indicate the vehicle’s width and LED lighting similar to that of the Blazer. Chevrolet‘s signature high-eye LED daytime running lights increase the 2024 Chevrolet Trax‘s daytime and nighttime visibility. Each trim has a different appearance, such as a different grille and wheels, depending on the model.
The Chevrolet Trax provides enticing features without breaking the bank. The LT strikes a balance between affordability and functionality. The LT comes standard with an 11.0 inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a remote starter, but we’d spend the extra money for the heated front seats and steering wheel. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard on models LT and higher, making smartphone navigation and music playback a breeze.

For instance, the LS and LT feature a modern design. The LT has 17-inch aluminum wheels as standard equipment, while the LS has 17-inch steel wheels. The RS trim has the most athletic design of the Trax. This variant of this SUV is made even sportier by the addition of exterior details. It features a distinctive grille with an inlaid RS emblem. 18-inch aluminum wheels with a machined face are standard on the 1RS grade, while 19-inch aluminum wheels with a machined face are standard on the 2RS grade. The best option is the new ACTIV Lids. It has a monochromatic design with titanium chrome accents and an aggressive rear skid plate. Moreover, it has stunning 18-inch black wheels.
Powertrain, Engine, and Performance
Each Chevrolet Trax is equipped with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain under the hood of the Chevrolet Trailblazer is identical. This is the only powertrain, and it only drives the front wheels. While the Trax is slightly larger than the Trailblazer, the last Trailblazer we tested reached 60 mph in 9.4 seconds, requiring patience. However, it was all-wheel drive. We anticipate that the performance of the Trax will be comparable when we eventually test it.

This 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine delivers 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels via the six-speed automatic transmission that comes standard on the Trax trim.

2024 Chevrolet Trax cost and introduction date
Chevrolet intends to offer the LS base model for $21,495, which is $1,000 less than the current model’s price. Interestingly, the Activ trim is the most expensive 2024 Chevrolet Trax model, costing approximately $25,000.
In general, we advise selecting the Active trim level because it includes everything you might require. According to Chevrolet, it will be available at dealerships as early as spring 2023.
