2024 Chevrolet Trax Michigan Review

2024 Chevrolet Trax. Some cars may arrive and depart. Automobile manufacturers may cease production for many reasons, such as a lack of demand or high production costs. However, this does not imply that they could bring back the car or a more current variant whenever the situation permits. After ceasing manufacture of the Bronco in 1996, for instance, Ford reintroduced the moniker on a new vehicle. Still capable off-road, the Ford Bronco is now a modern SUV with a retro charm. It came as a surprise, particularly for Jeep, whose Wrangler model now faces fierce competition from the Ford Bronco.

The Chevrolet Trax debuted in 2013 as the brand’s entry-level crossover SUV. Not only did Chevy sell the Trax in the United States, but also elsewhere. Then, abruptly, the firm will cease manufacture of the Trax for the 2023 model year, leaving buyers presumably in the lurch as the crossover barely lasted one generation. Nevertheless, the Trax will return for the 2024 model year, as Chevrolet is bringing back the tiny SUV. In fact, the firm has just unveiled the all-new 2024 Trax, which has a refined sense of beauty that will astonish many.

2024 Chevrolet Trax Exterior Design

Intriguingly, the external design of the brand-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax varies by trim level. The Trax is offered in a total of five trim levels: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. Each trim level features various design elements, such as grille and wheel designs, as well as a unique interior. For instance, the LS and LT trims have simple, clean looks. However, the LT trim has additional colorful trim. Standard on both trims are 17-inch wheels, but the LS has steel wheels and the LT has machined aluminum wheels.

Alternatively, clients with sporty preferences – at least in terms of visual appeal – may choose any of the RS trims (1RS and 2RS). These trims have the sportiest design, with additional external trim details and a grille bearing an RS insignia. The Trax 1RS is equipped with 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels, while the 2RS has 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels. The new Trax ACTIV rides on 18-inch black wheels and offers a monochrome design with titanium chrome highlights and an aggressive-looking rear skid plate. All 2034 Trax models feature a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three engine with a projected maximum output of 137 horsepower and peak torque of 162 lb-ft. A six-speed automatic transmission transmits the engine’s power to the wheels.

2024 Chevrolet Trax Interior

Chevrolet claimed the interior of the brand-new Trax as technologically advanced and roomier due to the small SUV’s enlarged size. In actuality, the cabin contains many display screens. These include an infotainment screen that is canted slightly toward the driver for easier use. The instrument panel is positioned low, so improving outward view and making the cabin feel more spacious. Similarly to the outside, interior features vary depending on the trim. LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims have an 11-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen and an 8-inch-diagonal driver information center. Trax LS and 1RS trims have an 8-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen.

In addition, the LT trim has black seats with Sky Cool Gray accents, whereas the 2RS has red seat accents and a flat-bottom steering wheel inspired by racing. The ACTIVE cut. Moreover, the vehicle has Evotex seats with yellow accents. On the LS level, heated front seats and exterior mirrors are available. Heated front seats, steering wheel, and outside mirrors are standard on the 1RS, 2RS, and ACTIV, and optional on the LT. Similarly, remote start is standard on 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV, whereas it is optional on LS. In the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims, automatic climate control, push-button start, and additional rear-seat USB connections are standard. The ACTIV grade has a power-adjustable driver’s seat as standard equipment.

2024 Chevrolet Trax Price

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax will come in the spring of 2023 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $21,4951 (LS trim). It will be an all-new compact SUV with an all-new exterior and interior, as well as more standard and optional features. The 2024 Trax is larger than its predecessor in terms of size. The brand-new Trax is over a foot longer and around two inches broader than the previous edition. This resulted in a six-cubic-foot increase in passenger volume and the corresponding increase in freight volume.

Interestingly, the 2024 is more than three inches shorter than its predecessor. Its longer, lower, and wider dimensions allowed Chevrolet to imbue it with a strong, athletic look inspired by the Chevrolet Blazer. Sleek horizontal lines compliment the Chevy bowtie in the center of the grille to emphasize the Trax’s breadth. The lines of the grille then extend outward to the Blazer-inspired headlights with brand-new LED lighting components. The new Trax also has robust “shoulders” that contribute to its taut, muscular appearance and sturdy posture.

Update

As a result of the carpocalypse, many cheap sedans have fallen by the wayside, making life difficult for first-time car buyers. Chevrolet has announced the revamped Trax, so it is not all terrible news. The 2024 Trax will arrive in spring with a starting price of $21,495 and will serve as the brand’s entry-level vehicle following the discontinuation of the Spark, Sonic, and Cruze. This is $205 less than the price of the current crossover, but being vastly superior.

Fashion Meets Availability

Although the outgoing Trax was equally inexpensive, it was its sole advantage. The crossover screamed low-quality and did not belong anywhere other than a rental car lot. Thankfully, the previous model will soon be a distant memory, as the 2024 Chevrolet Trax will feature a sportier and more premium look inspired by the larger Blazer. Both models have a large grille flanked by high-mounted LED daytime running lights that reside above minimalist headlights, so the similarities are immediately obvious.

We can see sculpted bodywork with flowing lines and curved surfaces further back. They are connected by a sloping roof and a dynamic beltline that angles upward.

Also notable are the plastic body cladding, the disguised exhaust, and the C-shaped taillights. In addition to an angular rear window, each of the model’s five trim levels features distinctive stylistic characteristics. The entry-level LS sits on 17-inch steel wheels, while the $23,395 LT adopts a more premium appearance with 17-inch aluminum wheels and brilliant trim.

Customers seeking a sportier appearance can choose between the two RS trims. The $23,195 RS1 has a distinctive grille and 18-inch wheels. The $24,995 RS2 has a similar design, but its aluminum wheels measure 19 inches.

Last but not least is the $24,995 Trax ACTIV with its rough appearance. It has titanium chrome elements, a “aggressive-appearing rear skid plate theme,” and black 18-inch wheels. The Trax is 11 inches (279 millimeters) longer, 4 inches (101 millimeters) lower, and 2 inches (51 millimeters) wider than its predecessor, which contributes to its enhanced appearance. Additionally, the wheelbase increases by nearly six inches (152 mm), resulting in an additional three inches (76 mm) of rear seat legroom.

A Decor That Does Not Scream “Cheap”

The Trax’s cabin is a breath of fresh air, since it offers a modern and premium design. Traditionally, entry-level has been synonymous with boring and plasticky interiors. According to Chevrolet, the cabin features a “lightweight sensation, accomplished with sweeping lines and light, technical elements that accentuate the vehicle’s width and generate a sense of airiness.”

There is still an abundance of plastic, but purchasers will find a sweeping dashboard with spherical air vents that are becoming a Chevrolet hallmark. Elsewhere, gloss black trim and metallic elements contribute to the cabin’s upscale appearance. In addition to the basic privacy glass and active noise cancellation technology, purchasers will also find a number of features not typically available in budget-friendly models. The inexpensive LS and 1RS grades feature analog instruments separated by a 3.5-inch LCD. An 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility complements them.

The LT, 2RS, and ACTIV are more technologically advanced due to their 8-inch digital instrument cluster and 11-inch infotainment systems. In addition, the models feature an automatic climate control system, push-button ignition, and remote start. In addition, the 1RS, 2RS, and ACTIV grades feature heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, while the ACTIV offers a motorized driver’s seat.

In addition to the equipment differences, the RS2 has a steering wheel with a flat bottom and red contrast stitching. In contrast, the ACTIV sports Evotex seats with yellow accents. On the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV, buyers will also find a variety of extras, including a sunroof and a newly available wireless smartphone charging. New Safety Features, Including Adaptive Cruise Control, Are Available

Standard on all Chevy vehicles is a suite of driver assistance systems known as Chevy Safety Assist, which is designed to protect drivers. It is equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Forward Collision Warning. Rear Vision Camera, Following Distance Indicator, IntelliBeam headlights, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning are all included. Standard equipment includes cruise control, while Adaptive Cruise Control is available on higher-end variants. Customers also get access to more advanced safety technologies, including Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist.

A turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine generates an estimated 137 horsepower (102 kW) and 162 lb-ft of torque (219 Nm). This is 18 horsepower and 15 pound-feet less than its predecessor, which utilized a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Despite sounding like a downgrade, the new model promises enhanced performance and fuel economy. Specifically, the 2024 Trax will travel from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 8.6 seconds, which is almost one second quicker than the preceding model. The engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission, as opposed to the Trailblazer’s continuously variable transmission. Officials admitted that this was a cost-cutting measure, but pointed out that the gearbox offers additional advantages, such as its comparatively light weight.

Although the powerplant seems adequate, the 2024 Trax will only be available with front-wheel drive. In the past, more than 70 percent of Trax purchasers opted for front-wheel drive, according to Chevrolet‘s research.

Chevrolet did not provide many additional details, but did clarify that the crossover rides on the same platform as the Chinese Seeker. Obviously, this is not a huge surprise given that the vehicles are practically identical in appearance, but having different powertrains. Notably, the Trax will be manufactured in South Korea and will share a lot of components with the Trailblazer.

2024 Chevrolet Trax News

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a totally redesigned crossover with a wider footprint and more advanced technology than the current model. In spring 2023, the updated model goes on sale in the United States. The starting price of $21,495 includes the $1,095 destination charge. The 2024 Trax takes design elements from the present-day Blazer. The most noticeable similarities are the running lights along the edge of the hood and the big trapezoidal hole in the lower fascia. This type, however, has split headlights that position the primary lighting in the distant corners.

The 2019 Chevrolet Trax is available in five trim levels: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ. The RS grades feature a redesigned grille and altered body trim. The Activ features a titanium-chrome finish and a false rear skid plate as highlights.

The redesigned Trax is positioned for buyers who desire “the convenience of a compact vehicle and the utility of an SUV.” It shares components with the current Trailblazer, however it is larger than the existing crossover. The Trax’s wheelbase is now 106.3 inches (2.7 meters) compared to the Trailblazer’s 103.9 inches (2.66 meters). The overall length is 178.6 inches (4.54 meters), whereas the Trailblazer is 173.5 inches (4.41 meters).

Chevrolet anticipates a $5,000 difference in average sale price between the 2024 Trax and Trailblazer. This is because Trailblazer has amenities such as all-wheel drive that Trax does not. The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is equipped exclusively with a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three-cylinder engine that generates 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission powers the front wheels. There is no all-wheel drive available.

In comparison, the current Trax’s 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 155 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque (239 Nm). Despite having fewer horsepower and torque, Chevrolet claims that the 2024 Trax can reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in approximately 8.6 seconds, which is about a second faster than the present generation. Moreover, the fuel economy is enhanced. The business attributes these enhancements to “better use of materials” and “optimization of the entire platform.”

Inside, the 2024 Trax is equipped with an abundance of standard technology. The LS and 1RS trim levels feature an eight-inch-diagonal infotainment display. The LT, 2RS, and Activ feature an 11-inch diagonal screen. In addition to heated seats, remote start, wireless phone charging, and automated temperature control, the higher trim levels also include these options. All models have active noise cancellation.

The standard safety technology package consists of automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic high lights, and a following distance indicator. Upgrades include of adaptive cruise control, lane-change alert with blind-zone monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist.
