2024 Ford Fusion, Active Full Review New
2024 Ford Fusion. Since 2013, the second generation Ford Fusion has competed in the mid-size sedan segment. The Fusion is still a solid prospect, having had several updates over the years, but it’s starting to fall behind the best in the mid-size sedan segment, with competitors like the Mazda 6, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The Fusion remains a stylish sedan that offers a great combination of smooth handling and speed. While the interior is spacious, it doesn’t feel luxurious in its class. The Fusion base is not as strong as the top model. It does not offer the same economy or performance. Ford’s wide range of SUVs, crossovers and sedans may get more attention. However, the 2024 Ford Fusion is worth checking out for those who don’t need the extra volume or space of an SUV.
The V6 Sport version, the most powerful and efficient in the Fusion range, won’t be produced in 2024. That’s not surprising given that it accounts for less than 10 percent of total sales. Other changes include eliminating the paddle shifters on the SE and SE models with 1.5-liter engines and replacing the distinctive LED lighting with halogen headlights for the SE. Titanium models now have a front passenger seat that can be adjusted in six ways. Alto Blue Metallic and Iconic Silver were added to the exterior, along with Rapid Red Metallic. However, Ford has confirmed that production of the 2024 Ford Fusion will be discontinued in 2021.
2024 Ford Fusion Exterior and interior design
Although the 2024 Ford Fusion won’t win any design awards, it’s a well-designed car that has stood the test of time. However, the cheaper models look a bit boring. Base S models feature LED taillights, auto-magnifying headlights, and 16-inch steel wheels with silver caps. Wheels can be adjusted up to 17 inches for the SE and 18 inches for the SEL. In the Titanium model, the wheels are made of 19-inch aluminum. The SEL comes with LED headlights, LED headlights and LED headlights. Titanium adds LED fog lights to the exterior and a chrome grille.
The main dimensions of the Fusion are 191.8 inches long, 58.2 inches high, 72.9 inches wide (excluding mirrors) and 72.9 inches wide. The 2024 Ford Fusion wheelbase measures 112.2 inches. These dimensions correspond to the dimensions of the Toyota Camry, which is approximately the same size. The front-wheel drive Model S weighs in at 3,410 pounds, while the Titanium-Titanium all-wheel drive weighs 3,816 pounds.
The interior of the Ford Fusion is very interesting. There is enough space for everyone and it has a neat layout of all the controls. It can be hard to adapt to your unique gear-shifting strategy. Unfortunately, the floor beast feels low-key, with poor fabrics and few infotainment options. While the top finishes have more attractive textures, some panels are not aligned as they should. While this isn’t a bad cabin, the 2024 Ford Fusion is a little behind the best.
2024 Ford Fusion engine
The entry-level model, the S, should settle for a 175-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. Only front wheel drive is available for the engine. A pair of turbocharged EcoBoost engines are available: a 1.5-liter engine producing 181 horsepower and a 2.0-liter engine producing 245 horsepower. Torque from the EcoBoost engines is 275 lb-ft and 245 hp. The SE model has a 1.5-liter engine with front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive. Titanium, the top model, has FWD (four-wheel drive) and AWD options. However, only a 2.0-liter engine is available.
The base model is slow, but the four-turbo engines are more responsive and class-leading. The Fusion can go from 0-60 mph in 8.9 seconds with its 1.5-liter engine. Turbocharged models perform best once speed is reached and can provide the 2024 Ford Fusion with adequate by-pass power. Despite being a slower seller, the V6 Sport was the only model that delivered truly sporty performance.
2024 Ford Fusion release date and price
The price of the 2024 Ford Fusion is reasonable. The cheapest model, the front-wheel drive Fusion S, has a suggested retail price of $23,170. The SE will come with a 1.5-liter turbo and FWD for $24,500. The all-wheel drive SE automatically receives the 2.0-liter turbo and raises the price to $27,090. Next up is the SEL, which uses FWD and the 1.5-liter turbo engine—it retails for $28,690. Fully loaded Titanium trim costs $34,450 with FWD, a 2.0-liter turbo and $36,450 when spec with AWD. Prices do not include licenses, registration and $995 destination fee.
2024 Ford Fusion Active
The all-new crossover-style station wagon, the 2024 Ford Fusion Active, is said to arrive next year and has a very attractive design. While there aren’t many details about Ford’s newcomer, we expect it to focus on the Subaru Outback. From the information we received, the new model will come as standard with all-wheel drive, a plastic body and an increased ride height.
There are also rumors that a plug-in hybrid drive will be offered in addition to the petrol variant. Fortunately, we have some designs for the upcoming Fusion Active and they look great with Ford’s latest design language. Here’s what we know so far about Fusion Active.
2024 Ford Fusion Active Design
From the first scans and designs, the new 2024 Ford Fusion Active looks very modern. It has the same design language seen in the latest Ford Focus. We like its front end the most, which it dominates thanks to its black grille and really attractive headlights.
There is also a tilting hood, as well as stylish wheels. We also noticed a large fender flare that was painted black. Unfortunately, we don’t have a clear view from the back because the body of the spotted model is heavily camouflaged. In general, expect to see a taillight extending over the tailgate.
2024 Ford Fusion Active Spacious and modern interiors
Inside, the 2024 Ford Fusion Active likely shares many styling cues with the Mustang Mach-e-Cross and Explorer mid-size SUV. So count on a very spacious cabin that can accommodate up to five passengers. Since this model will compete with the Subaru Outback, it should offer a comfortable rear seat and ample cargo space.
We can also expect a fully digital instrument cluster, a large vertically oriented center display and the latest version of Ford’s Sync infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard, while built-in navigation and a Wi-Fi hotspot will likely be on the optional menu.

2024 Ford Fusion Active Engine Options
Unfortunately, we don’t have official details about the engine and transmission options for the 2024 Ford Fusion Active at this time. According to some speculation, the new model will have all-wheel drive as standard and will likely include plug-in and hybrid powertrains. Interestingly, these engines are also available in the Escape compact crossover.
This means that we can expect a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. The Fusion Active will likely inherit the gas model from the Escape, which has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 250 horsepower. It should be noted that this model uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2024 Ford Fusion Active Price, Release Date
Since Blue Oval has not released any information on price and release date, the only way for us to rely is on speculation. So, based on the available information, the new 2024 Ford Fusion Active could start somewhere in the mid-$35,000 for the base model.
While we have no idea what trim levels will be available, some rumors suggest it will be compatible with other Ford models. Sales of the new 2024 Ford Fusion Active could start before the summer of next year.
