2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Full Review New

2024 Land Rover Defender 80. The new 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 won’t go on sale for a few months. This smaller, more controllable SUV dwarfs the smaller, more manageable engine of the Defender 90. The Land Rover Defender 80 will have a brand-new platform as its foundation. The Tata Harrier, a small SUV offered by Tata, the parent company of Jaguar, is thought to serve as the basis for the new SUV. We calculated a beginning price of about $30,000 based on our observations of the contemporary Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Redesign

Compared to the previous generation 2024 Land Rover Defender 80, this new model looks tougher. Other than that, the design and proportions are still boxy. Since there were more large two-door Defender 90 and four-door 110 models, the manufacturer decided to use the 80. The new model will be available in the same trim levels as the current model, including Base, S, SE and HSE.

You should be able to get good looks and off-road prowess with whichever variant you choose. All-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is expected to come standard on the Defender 80, according to the manufacturer. Ample ground clearance and approach, break-in and departure angles are all included in the package.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Interior Rumors

It’s hard to say what the interior of the 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 looks like without more details. The exact interior layout remains a mystery. However, we can gather some useful information. There will be room for four adults in four doors and two rows of seats. However, there is no way to know how much space there is for equipment and luggage in the back of the vehicle.

Leather upholstery, heated ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control and programmable ambient interior lighting are expected to be included on higher trim levels. Leather interior is also an option. From now on, Land Rover‘s Pivi Pro infotainment system, now available for the first time on Defender models, should become standard on all models. A 10.0-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto controls this system.

Like the new Wrangler and Bronco, a carpet-less alternative may be in for those who spend a lot of time outside and don’t want to deal with the mess that comes with it. Luxury cars can have heated seats, climate control, and ambient lighting in the higher-priced models.

Hopefully, the Pivi Pro infotainment system, which debuted in the 2024 Defender 90 and 110, will carry over to the Defender 80, though the 10.1-inch touchscreen has shrunk. Apple Car Play and Android Auto are standard features that can be updated over the air.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Powertrain Specification Performance

We don’t yet know which engine will power the new Defender 80 in 2024. Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque engines will likely be used in this SUV. There’s a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium engine in both variants, which produces 246 horsepower.

However, a turbocharged three-cylinder engine or a plug-in hybrid configuration could be used in future cars. There is no doubt that all-wheel drive will come as standard. Currently, the Land Rover Defender 80 is expected to feature air suspension with variable ground clearance and a choice of off-road driving modes. While fuel efficiency numbers will be available closer to the car’s launch date, they won’t be available until then. The new model should get good gas mileage with three or four cylinders.

What is the best engine for the Defender 80? That’s all assumptions at this point as there is no information to go on. A hybrid could be used for the Land Rover 80, or one of the existing Land Rover engines in the future. Around 260 horsepower can be obtained from the turbocharged three-cylinder or 2.0-liter four, used in the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. The Defender 80’s fuel efficiency should be pretty good for a compact SUV, but official numbers won’t be available until near the car’s debut.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Release date

The all-new 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 will join the competition for the best-in-class compact SUV. There is no word yet on when the manufacturer plans to launch the 2024YM. In addition to the base model, there will be several different options for the future Defender 80. The S, SE, and HSE are all estimated to cost between $30,000 and $45,000, with the entry-level model costing $30,000 (estimated).

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Update

The iconic off-roader was completely redesigned a few years ago, and while there are already two familiar designs on offer, the 90 and 110, it seems the company wants to introduce another, smaller version of the 90. The company allegedly wants to offer a more affordable model, which will offer similar road pricing. Mainstream rugged like Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. This model will come as the 2024 Land Rover Defender 80.

What’s interesting is that this new model doesn’t have much in common with the existing Defender. Instead, it will share the parts with many other Land Rover models, to make it more affordable. From what we know so far, it will come in several powertrain options, with the base version supposed to use a 3-cylinder unit. Recent reports suggest that the Land Rover Defender 80 may arrive in the first half of next year. .

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Design

As mentioned, the 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 will likely feature slightly different styling compared to the 90 and 110 models. This is platform specific, as this iteration will actually use the JLR D8 architecture, an architecture that underpins models like the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Sport. However, most of it will be shared with a model called the Tata Harrier, which comes from parent company JLR. In any case, we relied on the AWD design and many standard and available off-road features, combined with a good suspension setup that ensures a smooth ride in all conditions.

On the other hand, the exterior design will be very similar to the Defender’s design approach. We expect to see the same or very similar face and front shape, although the dimensions should be slightly smaller than those of the Defender 90. Interestingly, most sources suggest a four-door design, despite the expected dimensions.

Remote Areas

This aspect is still a mystery, but while it is too early to talk about the details, we may assume some basic things. This mainly refers to the overall design of the cabin. As we just mentioned, the Land Rover Defender 80 will likely come with four doors, but we can’t say how spacious and comfortable this SUV will be.

Also, we’re banking on a slightly different dashboard design compared to the rest of the Defenders, with slightly streamlined styling and slightly less impressive materials. Simply put, the company will be inclined to make this SUV more affordable.

However, this does not mean that we will not see a lot of technical features. We rely on the new Pivi Pro infotainment system, as well as the 10-inch infotainment screen. Also, all models should come standard with goodies like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. Trinkets such as dashboard navigation and on-board Wi-Fi hotspots will be available as options.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Engine

When it comes to the powertrain, we rely on the various options on offer. The 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 may not come with a hybrid powertrain on offer, but the petrol and diesel units are a sure thing. When it comes to petrol engines, base models can come with a small 1.5-liter three-cylinder unit, which produces around 160 horsepower. A 2.0-liter turbo-four is pretty much your thing, with a maximum output of around 250 horsepower.

When it comes to diesel units, we rely on the familiar 2.0-liter unit, which comes in three different output variants, with 150, 180 or 240 horsepower.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 Release Date And Price

As we just mentioned, the 2024 Land Rover Defender 80 could actually arrive in the first half of next year, with a starting price of around $30,000. More details will be soon.

2024 Land Rover Defender 80 News

The upcoming 2024 Land Rover Defender SUV is expected to be available for purchase later this year. The SUV is available in 80 and 90 variants, and the Defender 80 is significantly smaller and more compact than the larger Defender 90.

In essence, the Land Rover Defender 80 will be built on a very different basis than the standard Defender. According to recent reports, the new SUV will be based on the Harrier, a compact SUV marketed by Jaguar‘s parent company, Tata. Expect a starting price of around $30,000, which is comparable to the current Jeep Wrangler and the new Ford Bronco.

Facelift Defender 2024

The all-new 2024 Land Rover Defender will get a more rugged look. In addition, the design remains boxy with low proportions. The manufacturer chose the 80 because another massive Defender model was available in two-door configuration with the 90 and four-door with the 110. Like the outgoing model, the new model will be available in Base, S, SE and HSE trim levels.

Whichever trim level you choose, you should expect great aesthetics and off-road prowess. According to the company, the Defender 80 will come standard with either all-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In addition, it has a greater ground clearance and an expansive approach, separation and departure angle.

Internal Update

The interior of the 2024 Land Rover Defender is still a mystery. Unfortunately, the inside information is not yet available. However, we were able to gather some information. The four-door SUV body style will have two rows of seats and ample space for four people. However, we’re not sure how much space is accessible in the back for storing gear and luggage.

Upper trim levels will almost certainly include leather upholstery, heated ventilated seats, dual-zone temperature control, and adjustable ambient lighting. Land Rover‘s new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which debuted on the regular Defender for the first time, should also be standard. The system supports a 10.0-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powertrain Options And Specifications

We’re still not sure which engine will power the new 2024 Land Rover Defender. Most likely, this SUV will use the same engine as Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. Both versions are available with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 245 horsepower.

However, a turbocharged three-cylinder engine or some form of electrification, such as a plug-in hybrid system, are other options. Without a doubt, all-wheel drive will be standard. According to currently available information, the Land Rover Defender may also have a new air suspension system that is capable of adjusting ground clearance and selecting off-road driving modes. On the other hand, fuel efficiency ratings will not be available until near the vehicle’s sale date. Finally, some rumors also point to a new high-performance SVR variant (discussed below).

Price And Release Date

The all-new Land Rover Defender will compete for the title of best-in-class compact SUV. According to the automaker, this model will be available as the 2024YM sometime in 2022. As mentioned earlier, the 2024 Land Rover Defender will be offered in different trim levels. The entry-level model will cost $30,000, while the HSE model will cost around $45,000.
