2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Full Review New

2024 Mitsubishi Pajero. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, also known as the Montero Sport or Shogun Sport in some areas, has been in production since August 2015, making the timing ideal for a mid-cycle refresh. The midsize SUV already had a bold appearance with an intimidating front fascia, but the facelift takes it to the next level by incorporating the revised corporate design dubbed “Dynamic Shield” featured on the Eclipse Cross. The front fascia of the L200 / Triton pickup truck, on which the Pajero Sport is based, is nearly identical.

When you enter the cockpit, you’ll notice that Mitsu has added an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a new, comparable-sized touchscreen for the infotainment system. More softly padded inside surfaces give the Pajero Sport a more sophisticated appearance than previously, while rear passengers now have access to their own AC power outlet adjacent to the USB port. Along with the option of using a smartphone to access some of the functions and information on the SUV, a power tailgate with a hands-free functionality is also offered.

By including Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems with the refresh, Mitsubishi is expanding the Pajero Sport’s selection of safety features. If you choose the 4WD variant, your SUV will have a new switch that allows you to access the off-road mode. The new storage tray, which is accessible from both sides, and a modified lower console complete the interior improvements.

The 2020 Pajero Sport has a turbodiesel 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine shared with the Triton, just like the pre-facelift variant. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission that allows it to transmit its 178 horsepower (133 kilowatts) and 430 Newton-meters (317 pound-feet) of torque to the road.

The redesigned Pajero Sport has already begun selling in Thailand, where the Laem Chabang factory is producing the mid-size SUV.

2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Redesign

The upcoming 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero may be the last Pajero ever made. Although it is not official yet, many reports are predicting the “final release”. On the other hand, others speculate that the next generation Pajero will feature a hybrid powertrain. Mitsubishi will present the final version in the coming months. This version is on its way to Australia and possibly other parts of the world. Despite this, only 800 “Down Under” units will be sold.

Whatever variant you buy, the Pajero SUV comes standard with a turbocharged engine that produces more than enough power. Obviously, the hybrid powertrain is still popular, but it is another option for the Pajero SUV.

The appearance of the upcoming Mitsubishi Pajero 2024 could get some tweaks. This is the normal thing to do, but many reliable sources claim that it won’t happen. At the moment, everything about the Pajero SUV is speculation. This SUV will undergo many visual improvements in addition to the luxury increase. Some aspects, such as Pajero’s boxy and rugged chassis, will remain the same.

On the other hand, the aesthetics look more modern and straightforward. We don’t have all the details yet, but it’s possible the Pajero will inherit some design ideas from the current Outlander SUV. Finally, the manufacturer will incorporate an all-new hood guard, rubber cargo liner and more chrome specs.

2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Interior Rumors

The cabin of the new Mitsubishi Pajero 2024 will also receive minor upgrades. Again, Pajero may be retired in the coming years, so no major changes are expected. Instead, Mitsubishi will add new and interesting touches to the cabin, but the interior design will remain largely unchanged. For example, the Pajero now comes with a new floor mat, a leather-wrapped service manual and a leather-wrapped service manual.

The Exceed trim level comes with a new leather interior, aluminum pedals and a panoramic sunroof. That’s all we know now. On the other hand, the Pajero could get new standard features as well as new safety aids. Additional information will be provided by the manufacturer in the coming weeks.

Powertrain Specification Performance

According to various sources, the next generation Mitsubishi Pajero 2024 will have a hybrid powertrain. Unfortunately, the new generation model will not. It’s possible, but we’ll have to wait for Mitsubishi to release more information. Instead, the 3.2-liter engine must be serviced. This is a four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is available on all trim levels. This engine produces 190 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It’s great to know that Mitsubishi‘s five-speed transmission will be getting a replacement.

As long as the smaller Pajero Sport model is here, the hybrid powertrain will likely arrive sometime soon. According to reports, the Pajero Sport will use a hybrid system similar to that seen in the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. It is driven by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. This model should offer a pure electric range of about 30 miles.

2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Release date And Price

The upcoming 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero will cost just over $30,000 per source. Unfortunately, the Final Edition will only arrive in 800 models in Australia. While we wait for more official information, this SUV will go on sale late next year for sure.

Update

If you look at markets like North America and especially Europe, most buyers like crossovers. Things are a little different in parts of the world such as Australia and Southeast Asia, where the original SUVs and truck-based engines that use the traditional body-on-frame platform are still in high demand. There are many models of this type still on the market and Pajero Sport is one of them. Based on the Mitsubishi L200/Triton Pickup, it competes in the Midsize SUV segment, where some of its major competitors are models like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest, etc. Next year shouldn’t bring more significant changes, so we expect to see the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport with familiar styling and features.

Overall, you can count on the original SUV, which still offers plenty of great things, even if it hasn’t changed since 2015. We love its rugged nature and strong off-road capabilities. Apart from that, the engine is very efficient, while the suspension arrangement also provides a good ride quality on the road. The cabin is comfortable, functional and spacious, so you can say that the Pajero Sport has no significant shortcomings.

The lack of anything new also means we’ll see it at certain times of the year, around the last quarter of 2022.

Design Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2024

As we just mentioned, the current generation has been around since 2015 and not much has changed since then. The overall design is much the same, though we have to mention a visual update from a few years ago. The design closely follows the aesthetics of the two pickup brothers, and it’s especially easy to see at the front, where the two models look so much alike. On the other hand, the overall shape comes with a typical wagon design, with dimensions that offer a good balance between interior space and off-road capabilities. To give you an idea, the wheelbase is just over 110 inches.

The strong association with the L200/Triton is evident in many ways. However, there are also some key differences. The suspension setting is an excellent example. The front axle is mostly the same, and the rear axle is completely different. While the truck is equipped with good leaf springs, the Pajero Sport comes with an independent rear suspension, which provides much better ride quality.

Given that the current generation is expected to remain in production for a few more years, we suspect the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport won’t come with many changes. However, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of seeing something new when it comes to the new look pack. For example, the 2022 model comes with a new GSR version, with several exclusive design details. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if we see something similar next year as well.

Remote Areas

In terms of interior design, we don’t expect any surprises. The current cabin looks good, although it is outdated. However, keep in mind that we are talking about truck-based SUVs, which prioritize functionality over aesthetics. Thus, the dashboard is not as flashy as you would expect from a modern crossover. Most of the materials are hard to touch but on the other hand, they all look very solid and very durable. Also, it’s worth noting that the cabin comes with a lot of standard equipment. All models come standard with an 8-inch infotainment screen, as well as standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from that, the list of standard equipment also includes items like push buttons, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, etc.

The first two rows of seats are very spacious and can easily accommodate adults. The driving position is high and ensures excellent visibility in all directions. On the other hand, the third row is usually narrow for the segment.

2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport engine

Things under the hood won’t change and the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will continue to be offered with the familiar unit. The popular 2.4-liter turbodiesel will remain the top choice for most drivers, thanks to its fine balance between power and efficiency. The engine generates around 135 kW of power and 430 Nm of torque (180 hp and 317 lb-ft).

The older generation 2.5-liter turbodiesel will still be available in some parts of the world, with maximum power of 136 (101 kW) and 324 Nm of torque. Also, older 3.0-liter V6s can be found in some parts of the world, with a maximum output of around 220hp.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2024 Release Date

With no major changes imminent, we expect the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year.

This version is on its way to Australia, and possibly other parts of the world. However, 800 units will be sold in Australia.

Pajero 2024 Can Be Redesigned

The upcoming 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero could feature a redesigned exterior design. This makes sense, but many reliable sources say that this will never happen. Everything about the Pajero SUV is pure speculation at this point. This model will get at least some cosmetic upgrades and luxury upgrades. Some details will remain, such as the Pajero’s distinctive boxy look and aggressive design.

On the other hand, the aesthetics look decidedly up-to-date and up-to-date. We don’t know all the details, but Pajero will almost certainly borrow some styling from the current Outlander SUV. Finally, the manufacturer will include an all-new hood guard, rubber cargo liner and additional chrome accents.

Internal Update

The interior of the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero will also get some sort of mid-cycle refresh. Again, Pajero could be retired in the coming years, so Mitsubishi could decide not to make the change. Instead, Mitsubishi will add a fresh, eye-catching touch to the cabin, but most of the interior will be kept. For example, Pajero now includes new floor mats and leather-wrapped service, as well as the owner’s manual.

The Exceed trim level adds new leather upholstery, aluminum pedals, and a panoramic sunroof. This is what we know now. On the other hand, Pajero may receive additional standard features and new safety aids. The manufacturer will provide additional information in the following months.

Can A Hybrid Powertrain Save The Pajero Suv?

Several sources claim that the next generation 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero will use a hybrid powertrain. Unfortunately, the new generation did not happen. It’s a possibility, but we’ll have to wait for Mitsubishi to reveal more details. On the other hand, the 3.2-liter engine should remain. This is a four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is available on all trim levels. This engine produces 189 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of maximum torque. The transmission will be replaced by a five-speed Mitsubishi, which is nice to hear.

A hybrid powertrain could be used in the near future, as it will continue to be on the smaller Pajero Sport model. According to rumors, Pajero Sport will adopt a hybrid system from the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. This is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. This variant has a range of up to 30 miles using pure electric power alone.

Mitsubishi Pajero 2024 Release Date, Price

Prices are not yet available, but the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero will likely cost around $33,000. As mentioned earlier, 800 units will be sold in Australia, and Pajero is expected to expand further afield. Sales will start at the end of 2022. Pajero is a legendary four-wheel drive SUV that has been in production for 40 years. The Pajero Sport could be the only Pajero model on offer. This is a small version of the Triton / L200 pickup truck.
