The Variant Y now has a third row of seats as an option, but it’s only available with the long-distance model. That makes the Model Y about $3,000 more expensive and reduces range from 330 miles to 303 miles, Tesla Motors says. As far as we know, the starting price for the next model will be around $61,000.
2024 Tesla Model Y Redesigned
Although it will have an SUV body, the 2024 Tesla Model Y will have a relatively similar styling to the sedan version of the Model 3, as it has in the past. Its sloping roofline, streamlined wheel designs and sweeping, sweeping body lines are some of the features it offers. The Performance model looks more aggressive due to the lowered suspension, 21-inch wheels and carbon fiber rear spoiler.
The 2024 Model Y is compact but big. Overall, it’s larger than small crossovers like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, and it’s about the same size as the Ford Mustang Mach-E, and it’s almost the same size.
2024 Tesla Model Y More futuristic cabin
The 2024 Tesla Model Y will have a sleeker interior than its predecessors. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are two technologies that are becoming increasingly important to any new car or SUV. Fortunately, the new Tesla Model Y should offer both as standard. The first and second rows of seats have fairly wide seats. Supportive, comfortable seats allow for long-distance travel, and the electric motor makes the cabin quiet. Although the third row of seats on the long-haul model is comfortable, it’s useful if you want a little more space sometimes.

If there’s only five seats, there’s plenty of cargo space, but if you add the third row of seats, which is an option, there’s even less room. There is a bit of “buffering” up front where the engine would normally be, and maximum rear cargo space with the rear seats folded is 20 cubic feet. The standard infotainment system has a large 15-inch screen that controls nearly every function, such as navigation, audio, and temperature. Also included are four USB sockets, a 14-speaker audio system, and two wireless charging stations.
Autopilot is a standard semi-autonomous driver assistance system. It has features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, automatic steering, blind spot monitoring and other driver assisting features. But even if this makes highway driving virtually painless, keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road at all times.
2024 Tesla Model Y Engine specifications
The 2024 Tesla Model Y has the same chassis and engine as the Model 3 sedan. It came standard with a dual-motor and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. We don’t think Tesla‘s cheapest crossover will change much, if anything. Currently, the standard Model Y Long Range trim level comes with two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and up to 330 miles of range.
From what we know, the new model can go about 350 miles with the same setup, which is quite an increase. The time it takes for this model to go from 0 to 60 mph is 4.8 seconds. On the other hand, the Performance version has a shorter range of 303 miles, but can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, which is faster.

price and release date
We expect the base 2024 Tesla Model Y to be priced with a long-range option at around $61,000 when it launches in 2023. This Tesla crossover will get you the most miles per gallon for your budget. When you opt for the Y Performance model, you get a higher top speed and a price increase to around $64,000.
There are few affordable electric SUVs that rival the Model Y in a rapidly growing market. We mean that in models like the Ford Mustang Mach E, Volkswagen ID.4, and Kia EV6. At the higher, more expensive end of this market are cars like the Jaguar I-Pace, Audi e-tron, and Cadillac Lyriq.
