2023 Mazda CX-70. Mazda has confirmed that it is working on three new SUVs, and we expect them to arrive next year. As far as is known, the manufacturer will present the new CX-50, CX-70 and CX-90 models. Plus, we just received some photos of the Mazda CX-70, and it looks like the upcoming two-row SUV is better than any CX model yet. According to Mazda, this SUV will arrive in the US and should be available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
As for the engines, power is provided by Mazda‘s next generation of 6-cylinder engines. In addition to this engine, we also hope to see at least one additional hybrid option.
First Look
The exterior of the new 2023 Mazda CX-70 will be eye-catching and we expect to use the same Kodo design as before. Of course there will be some changes to separate the old CX models from the new ones. First of all, we noticed that the upcoming CX-7 looks more elegant, with the same slanted rear as the CX-30 model. However, we don’t know how this will translate into altitude.

Overall, the CX-70 is a much larger crossover than the CX-30 and CX-50, so expect more room. As mentioned, there is one available image of the Mazda CX-70 and we first noticed that the front is dominated by a small grille with wide and small LED headlights. Also, the upcoming SUV will sport two colors on the body and roof rails, which is a big plus. The side profile is just as beautiful as the front and Mazda has added new 17-inch black rims.
Cabin Features
Inside, the upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-70 will be modern and spacious. Based on the available information, the new SUV will come in the form of a two-row car that offers enough space for five passengers. There will definitely be more room than we saw in the CX-7. This variant provides 30.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row or 59.6 cubic feet when the 40/20/40/folding rear seats are folded.
Overall, we think the new 2023 Mazda CX-70 will match the Honda CR-V, which measures 37.6/75.8 cubic feet. Also, unlike all current CX models, the new model will likely come with a large infotainment system above the center console. Plus, expect plenty of standard features and many optional features.

2023 Mazda CX-70 Engine Specifications
At the moment, there is no official statement for the 2023 Mazda CX-70 engines. Many believe that Mazda will use some of the existing engines with at least one additional model. Options for all Mazda SUVs include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 hp and a turbocharged 250 hp. Both units will use a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
2023 Mazda CX-70 Release date
The new 2023 Mazda CX-70 will be launched next year, along with the CX-50 and CX90 models. It is also rumored that the manufacturer will also add a new CX-30 PHEV variant to the lineup that shares the same architectures as the upcoming CX-50. As you probably know, the CX-3 has been discontinued and replaced with the CX-30, so expect the same with the CX-5, CX-70 and three-row CX-9.
From the available information, we will see the first release of the Mazda CX-50 in November. However, finer details will be available for all CX models as their arrival date approaches.
