The upcoming new 2024 Ford Ranger Electric will follow the line of pickup trucks that come with hybrid or electric power. According to various sources and information, the commercial Ranger (or better known as the ute) and Everest (with all-wheel drive) vehicle will come as a 2024 model with hybrid power. And it looks like both cars will be ready to go to Australia first – or so we think.
2024 Ford Ranger Electric Next plans
There have been several pictures of what a Ford Ranger and For Everest hybrid powerhouse could look like, and you have to admit it’s pretty cool. If the company starts producing it with a plug-in hybrid unit that can make both cars satisfactory, it will be inundated with orders. And that’s probably good news for the Australian car market, as both cars have to go to their showrooms.
There was news, then confirmation, about the Everest and Ranger, and how the PHEV (plug-in hybrid) versions are still in development. Instead of using all-electric or self-charging hybrid vehicles, Ford decided it would be safer for these vehicles to come with a PHEV option. The launch date is expected to be by the end of 2023 or 2024 at the latest.
In addition, both cars will be introduced to Australia, possibly targeting the retail market in that country. These facts made the two cars the first ever electrified model in the large SUV segments.
2024 Ford Ranger Electric Hybrid Industry Competition
For the hybrid market, 2024 Ford Ranger Electric will have the hybrid version. However, the hybrid type will not arrive soon enough. The company will release the next-generation model first, possibly sometime in 2025 (the company also said it will do so in the middle of this decade), and then the hybrid model first. It appears that Ford has made its first official announcement with its hybrid models, as its competitors (VW, Nissan, Mazda or Isuzu) have yet to come up with an official plan regarding their dual-cab hybrid vehicles.

Specific details of the PHEV Everest and Ranger, along with their electric motor suite, have not been revealed. It remains questionable whether Ford will continue to use a diesel or petrol engine under the hood of a Biodegradable Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
However, Ford still has to consider the popularity of gasoline engines, which are more popular than diesels in PHEV systems. This is a common trend all over the world. The fact that they have to switch to the less popular option can be risky. Therefore, there are predictions and speculation that it may be gasoline that powers the PHEV models. It is always possible!
As for the power arrangement, Ford can consider two examples. The 2.5-liter PHEV four-cylinder engine and the 167 kW system (found in the average Escape SUV) can be considered weak. Meanwhile, the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with the 336-kW system (found in the large SUV Explorer outside) may be too much. Therefore, it is very likely that the upcoming Ford Ranger in 2024 will come with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is believed to balance everything.

The new 2024 Ford Ranger Electric will also be launched on the American market, with a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a capacity of 2.3 liters, a capacity of 200 kW and a torque of 420 Nm. The Raptor’s off-road suspension will be stronger and more durable than the Ranger’s.
